My child passport renewal timeline as follows – I’ve not emailed any MP’s or messaged the passport office in Twitter etc just let the process happen. It did take just over a week for my passport to show as arrived with the passport office despite the Royal Mail tracking showing as delivered the next day after postage (23rd June)
I expect our passport to arrive early next week with the weekend in between.
Seems all in all it will be 3 weeks

Went to Peterborough and seemed to take a while to be logged as delivered compared to the next day on the Royal Mail tracking was showing (it was recieved on the 24th June) but anyway I presume it’s not too far off being posted. But who knows….

What happens next
Your new passport is being printed. We’ll let you know when it’s on its way.
We’ll send back your old passport separately. It won’t be in the same envelope as your new passport.
Someone mentioned something on one of the other threads about more staff starting back again on the 1st July so maybe they’re starting to get through the backlog

Process so far – my passport was signed for the 24th June but not logged onto the passport office until 8 days later

Had a text at 6:30 on 2nd July to say they received the old passport – so well over 7 days from Royal Mail showing as signed for
Finally he a call back on Friday 3rd also 3 days age tee requesting – the phone call came from the Newport office but I didn’t get into conversation with them as I’d received the text to say they had the old passport.
I know the passport online application is now saying don’t apply for a passport unless you’re travelling before September 2020 – which has recently been added

ID etc confirmed 22nd June
Passport posted Royal Mail sign for 23rd
Signed for my Peterborough passports 24th June
Nothing been updated on the passport tracking so show they have received and it’s now over a week since Royal Mail show it having arrived.
Tried phoning passport office, after 10 mins or so it automatically converts you to the call back and so far they’ve not called me back – have been waiting over 24 hrs
