Hi, has anyone had a passport issued from Belfast. I an a UK national resident in the UK but stuck in Portugal during lockdown. I applied for my passport at the end of May as my passport was soon expiring and I was not able to travel back due to lockdown and just wondering how long Belfast are taking as there is very few posts that mention that office.

Update to yesterdays post, as today I have received a text to confirm approval. Timeline so far Application submitted 28 May 2020 Application received 28 May 2020 Documents received 11 June 2020 (posted from Portugal and took 13 days to be delivered, Royal mail delivered to passport office on 10th June) Application being processed 12 June 2020 Application approved 25 June 2020 So has taken 2 weeks exactly from them logging docs as received to approval. I think this is very acceptable. Will post again once passport received, but am expecting this to be the next hurdle as delivery companies in Portugal are terrible and say my address doesn't exist as it is in the countryside, even though it does! UPS are the only company that have ever delivered to my address. Fingers crossed.

Hi As I've been eagerly looking on here and twitter for an indication of timescales I thought I'd post mine! Passport printed and sent 10:13am on 31 July 2020 Application approved 8:21pm on 29 July 2020 Application being processed 8:57am on 16 July 2020 Identity details received 12:49pm on 13 July 2020 Email sent to person confirming your identity 12:29pm on 13 July 2020 Ask someone to confirm your identity 11:36am on 13 July 2020 Application submitted 11:36am on 13 July 2020 It is due to be delivered on Tuesday 4th August as per TNT Passport tracking website. It was a lost passport so had no docs to send. The new passport was scanned by TNT 31st July at 9pm and assume they don't do delivery over the weekend as it's showing the 4th as the delivery date. I did chase a couple of times via Twitter (which is why I know it is Belfast office) and don't know if that helped - I'm based in Preston so thought it was strange to be being dealt with in Northern Ireland instead of my local office which is in Liverpool but I'm not complaining because Liverpool times seem to be a lot longer. Overall very happy with the service given all that is going on!

Applied for our child's first passport and due to fly out on 17th August. Emailed local MP and have called HMPO on several occasions to attempt expediting to no avail. Understand the pressures and unprecedented period but there should really be additional contingencies for situations where people lose significant amounts of money as they have holidays/flights pre-booked. Our mistake was not applying for the passport sooner (totally put our hands up here) but had been misled by a colleague who'd stated our newborn could fly using our passports. Anyone else had any luck and can post the timeline for this bunch? I'm now at 28 days since submission and 21 days at processing with no movement since. starting to lose hope in getting away next week!

@suvv10 any luck with your child passport? We are in a similar situation, first passport for our newborn, hoping to fly in 10days: we are moving abroad so we have to reschedule movers, landlord + plane if passport does not arrive on time :( Our application moved to being processed on July 26th and no news since :(

Here is the full timeline: Application sub/ID etc 15 July 2020 Documents received 20 July 2020 Application being processed 22 July 2020 Application approved 14 August 2020 Passport printed and sent 17 August 2020 Delivered by TNT to Edinburgh Area 19 August 2020 When you hit 28 days phone and chase as they can escalate. I am travelling on Friday however I hadn't booked as per guidance and told them that so why are other people skipping me in the que. With a whole 48hrs to spare we finally have it and with no thanks to our registry office which was the initial delay in getting a birth certificate!

The only daughter of the house died in the father. We have made my application to the course. my wife buys the 1100 euro I wouldnt take the 6 from her former company for the entire XNUMX month. Now if I go to the course, who will meet my needs? should I apply for any unemployment benefit? I dont have a rent, but you know, Im going to have a non-smoking bus or money for the government. ? Here is my crazy timeline! I'm applying for First Adult Passport by Descent From: London, UK Method: Online Passport Office: HMPO Belfast Application being processed 10:56am on 19 March 2021 Documents received 8:20am on 19 March 2021 Application received 8:46pm on 15 March 2021 Identity details received 8:46pm on 15 March 2021 Email sent to person confirming your identity 12:51pm on 15 March 2021 Ask someone to confirm your identity 12:41pm on 15 March 2021 Application submitted 12:41pm on 15 March 2021 I was contacted maybe on the 24th of March saying my birth certificate and my parents' marriage certificate that I sent were of the wrong type, so I did all I could to retrieve the correct ones from Italy. I could obtain everything and send it back only by the 5th of May (they were received on the next day) but then on the 14th of May I received a letter from the HMPO informing me there was a typo on the certified translation. Turns out the typo was on my original birth certificate, so I had to contact the civil registry office of my birthplace (AGAIN) to get it amended. It took them a whole month to send it to me, I sent everything to the HMPO again which they received on the 1st of July (according to the tracking code). Nothing until the 19th of July, when I receive an email from them asking for this birth certificate AGAIN and that I had already sent almost three weeks earlier! I call the advice line and give them the tracking code but after that I hear nothing from them. I decide to call back on the 26th of July asking roughly how long is it going to take at this point (as I have no type of ID, as they took my other nationality's passport for the application) but the person I spoke to told me he doesn't know :( I ask what's going on with my birth certificate, if it's lost or what and he again says he doesn't know. Hopefully I will be able to get my passport soon as I would like to see my parents abroad after so long.

Waiting for a child passport renewal from Belfast. Been almost 4 weeks now since submission and still "being processed". Starting to get very anxious since need it in 2 weeks time. Anyone any ideas if there anything you can do to speed this up? Upgrade to their Fast Track service? Hi we upgraded to fast track for my sons renewal when the application was stuck in processing and it appeared we weren't likely to get it. We are due to fly this Saturday 23rd Oct and Saturday gone I booked a fast track appointment in Glasgow for 9am Monday morning (18th Oct). I attended the appointment gave them the application form and a withdrawal letter for the first application. I stated the old passport number on the new application. The lady who took my application said she'd send the withdrawal letter to Durham (where the old passport is) and that we would get the new passport within 7 days. We checked yesterday and the examiner needed a colour copy of the front of my sons old passport emailing through from Durham and this was done. Just checked with them 20 mins ago and the passport is due for printing this afternoon and on TNT's "last mile" webpage it's saying it's due out for delivery tomorrow. So we will just have made it! All hangs on it being delivered tomorrow now as we need to drive up to Glasgow to catch flights at 6am on Saturday!

Here is my time line for replacement passport. I called about a week ago to see if I could get any info on progress and the person wasn't so helpful and couldn't really tell me anything other than its at Belfast office (was online application and didn't have to send any documents) Then called yesterday to be told my application was "on hold until 2/11/21“ But there was no note on system as to why? And I was asked if I had dates for travel which I do - next Friday, so she took a note. Not sure if this helped speed things up or if its just a coincidence, but worth trying (prepare to be on hold for 60 minutes+) Anyway, later that day I got txt saying it had been approved and today it has been sent thankfully!
