My daughters passport arrived today. Seems a bit of hit and miss on timescales as looked like a number submitted theirs after means got them before. Anyway, here’s my timescales.
Passport printed 3:43am on 27 May 2022
Application approved 10:29am on 25 May 2022
Application being processed 10:51am on 6 May 2022
Documents received 1:27pm on 30 April 2022
Application received 9:00pm on 26 April 2022
Application submitted 8:59pm on 26 April 2022June 1, 2022 at 12:44 pm #16757ShellyjaneParticipantMine hasn’t moved since the 8th of April, I have emailed three times and spoken to someone twice and they just keep saying I can upgrade two weeks before we are due to go, which is in 2 weeks time. I am so stressed I feel sick, I am tempted to just postpone the holiday. We had 13 weeks to go when I applied it’s an absolute joke.

Thanks so much for this tip. I did this last night out of desperation and if I’m honest not really expecting it to work, but woke up this morning to ‘application approved!’

June 6, 2022 at 9:26 am #16895NoobSlayer86ParticipantHere is an indication of Newport processing times for applications from the start of May
Application history
Application approved 7:35am on 4 June 2022
Application being processed 2:01pm on 24 May 2022
Documents received 7:36pm on 12 May 2022 (they actually arrived there on 4th May according to Royal Mail)
Application received 8:31pm on 2 May 2022
Application submitted 8:31pm on 2 May 2022No idea how long it is supposed to take from application approved to getting the passport? Flight is 2 weeks 5 days away with an alternative one 3 weeks today.
June 6, 2022 at 9:45 am #16896swm1982ParticipantFrom my experience with Newport, passport was printed 2 days after approval and delivered 2 days after being printed
June 9, 2022 at 12:53 pm #17121HarlemParticipantNewport renewal update.
Applied 31st March(10wks ago)
Docs received 1st April
Processing 7th April(9wks ago)Nothing since 7/4 till yesterday 8/6.
In one day……
Approved 9am sent to printing couple hours later…told will notify when sending.
Didn’t BUT
In my hand 24 hrs later am almost in shock….
Will add did pay for fast postage at start but after looking at processing stage for 9 week couple days faster posting was not my or most people’s main concern.
Hopefully things are catching up at least as felt like was bottom of some buried pile that other newer applications were being dealt with sooner.June 10, 2022 at 8:26 am #17172NoobSlayer86ParticipantYeah it looks like the newer applications are being dealt with quicker for some reason. The royal mail delivered my old passport to Newport on 4th May, TNT have texted me today (10th June) to say my passport is being delivered today. So, my wait for an Adult renewal was 5 weeks 1 day

I sent in my application from Tanzania in March.. it is now June and application is still being processed. This is for an adult renewal. Is there an email address that I can write to or phone number that can actually allow me to speak to a human instead of getting an automated reply? Please help as I’m due to travel in 3 weeks!!!
June 14, 2022 at 8:10 am #17374swm1982ParticipantHi smanek271
I’d genuinely recommend using the web chat if you can get through to someone, it may take a few hours of trying and you need to be quick when someone is available to speak to, but I did it and it worked. I was told on the chat that it was with an examiner, but less than an hour after the chat it moved to approved and I got the passport less than a week later.

July 5, 2022 at 10:04 am #18454Baggie82ParticipantI’ve been stuck at documents received since the 16th May, I think this is beyond ridiculous as I know people who applied after me and have their passports already, this is a renewal by the way. I’ve tried the webchat and tried the old survey trick, but to no avail. If anybody has any other advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Documents received 1:57pm on 16 May 2022

Applied online 6/5
My id verifying had issues with the system so had to get someone else to do that that was completed 16/5 docs sent special delivery to Newport signed for by Graham on 18/5.
System was updated 31/5 to say documents received.
Nothing since then, tried emailing/calling.January 4, 2023 at 4:47 pm #20770Andy AndersonKeymasterType of Application:

The longest wait was for Royal Mail to return my old passport. Once it had been received, my new passport arrived within 3 days (not 10 weeks as published on the .gov website…) -
