Average time between documents delivered and registered as received?

My documents were delivered on the 18th of March and still not acknowledged them. You could be waiting a while. They received 10-12k documents by post a day to most offices. So taking Some time at the moment

It really varies. Less than a week, sometimes 2-3weeks (I've recently made 3 applications).

It's nearly 4 weeks since they were signed for. Everyone else seems to be getting them received after a week or two.

It took two weeks for our documents to be acknowledged and still waiting a week later for anything else to happen. we have applied for 3 childrens first passports.

Upsidedown: have you contacted them at all?

My documents were delivered on 10th March but no confirmation as of yet.

I haven't yet, wondering what the normal range is.

They say normally the documents should be uploaded within 11 working days of receipt but I have come across a few people who got confirmation after 3 weeks. I haven't come across anyone who has been waiting as long as I am. I have contacted them a few times and now asked them to search for documents. Still no response though. When were yours delivered and is it Liverpool office?

Ours were delivered 14 March to Durham.

Just got an email from them saying "send us your documents" and application will be withdrawn if they are not received by 22 May.

When did you submit the application?

18th Feb. I have just got off the phone, they have added case notes to the application numbers and sent details to Durham so they will look for the documents. They were surprised as it is 19 working days since the documents were delivered by Royal Mail. I only had to wait 10 minutes to speak to someone so it could be worth calling if you are worried.

I have called them quite a few times and only thing they seem to do is make a note. I have asked them to search the documents now as I am travelling end of this month. It's 22nd working day for me today and I am really frustrated now.

Have you got anywhere with them @Adiq? I hope that the person making notes on the files will stop them from cancelling the application, and also very worried they have lost our documents!

No, I haven't. I spoke to them today morning and was told the same thing that they have sent a message across to Liverpool office and can't do anything else. The person on the phone wasn't very professional and his tone was somewhat rude. I have decided to send a letter to the Liverpool office with all the details. I can't think of anything else that can be done to get in touch with them directly. The telephone service is very much useless and I am not going to wait around anymore.

Just received the email to say my documents have been received. UPS confirmed that they were delivered on 8 March, so 24 working days

Signed for 4th April. Marked as received 11th April. Peterborough office.

At Durham mine was about 3 weeks when I sent it at beginning of March. If it’s gone a month I would call them. Did you have the delivery tracked so you can prove somewhat they have it ? I think things have got a lot more backlogged at this point though.

Mine took 22 days in Liverpool. Only thing that makes sense in my mind is they have a "just pile it on" post "system". Spoke to loads of people with similar and most from the week starting 7th march were delayed yet some who sent 2-3 weeks after them were getting logged in 2 days.

Durham also take all the international passports, so it maybe even more massively backed up. I believe mine was almost 3 weeks back until they showed up online in March. I would make sure you send the documents using a traceable delivery.

Delivery was tracked (which is why I know they received it on 14 March). I phoned on Friday and the lady I spoke to took notes and said she was emailing the Durham office.

Hi @Upsidedown, Great to hear that your document receipt has been acknowledged. Like you I am applying for an adult renewal from overseas and it’s now been a week since my documents were signed for in Durham so I guess based on your experience I should expect to be waiting a few weeks before it gets picked off the pile and acknowledged… Please update on your progress as I will be monitoring with interest!
