When did you go into processing Paul? And you could travel to pick up the passport
Hi jb22f, it went to processing on 10th March. I can travel to pick up the passport
You can or you can’t travel? Once it’s printed you could arrange to pick it up with them?
Keep checking with TNT as they can can sometimes print and send but it’s not updated. I hope you get somewhere soon with it all. Especially under the circumstances
I can travel to the passport office to pick it up but the problem is they are not willing to speed up the process of printing it. Looks like there is no other way to travel abroad even for any emergency reasons :(
Thanks jb22f. I will check TNT. I believe I should enter the application reference as the customer reference to search in TNT website
It’s bloody ridiculous all this palava! My sister applied for passport two weeks ago. Approved and printed already
So sorry paul22 really hope u get the passport for u to be with your father, u think they would print it straight away for u.
I just spent almost 2 hours waiting for them to answer the bloody phone finally answered and the examiner has until 4.50 today to get bk to me to see if I need to send anything else in, I’m really hoping I won’t and they will approve it there and then but can prob see me bk on the phone later as they prob will ignore the message they have left 😟
Jb22f this is exactly what happened with my sisters sons passport applied and approved straight away, which I’m glad but gutted I’m still waiting for my child’s lol
Thanks jb22f and Passportwait.
I got a reply from Durham escalated case. They said my application was processed before they received the emergency requirement. It has now gone to be printed centrally instead at Durham office. Now, I have to wait.
One information we could derive is, if any of your applications went to processing around my date i.e. 10th March, you could hopefully expect to be approved soon
Paul my child’s went into processing on the 10th March but was received on 18th feb. When was yours received?
Mine went in processing queue on the 16th so prob around a week or so for mine 🤯🤯
Im fed up with it all. Just totally disappointed ☹️
This is my timeline, have just had to cancel our holiday for Monday, passport still not printed. Calls are useless, I get told different things each of the 20 odd times I have rang. When i submitted it, was 4 weeks wait. The whole system is a shambles. The kids are gutted.

That’s such a shame. Don’t think myself and my youngest will be able to go either. We are due to go on the 14th and still not approved.
Anyone else been approved that’s started processing on the 10th March
Does anyone know how long they take to cancel you application because I’m going to cancel and go through a fast track service as it only takes 1 week. I fly on the 2nd of may so thinking that this is my only option🤦🏽♀️
Mine went into processing on 10th March and not approved yet. I’m travelling 2 weeks today so I’m currently trying to speak to someone about the new upgrade service
Well the examiner was supposed to get bk to me by 5pm and guess what haven’t bothered, tried ringing but over an hour I give up
Abby and passportwait when did they receive your documents?
Mine was really quick, applied 10th March, received my docs the 14th March and started processing the 16th March, been stuck on this stage since
Abby what is the upgrade service? Do they allow this
My timeline:

Only just been able to see tracking info on tnt for delivery, it’s due to be posted tomorrow. So the whole application took just under 7 weeks for me - I also had to write to them to explain damage to my old passport. This part took the longest as it took over 2 weeks for them to register my letter, and none of that was updated on the tracking system.
Was that at the Durham office?
Hello with a sad face,
Due to fly on 23rd April.
Application being processed 3:19pm on 18 March 2022
Documents received 4:40pm on 16 March 2022
Application received 12:28am on 9 March 2022
Application submitted 12:27am on 9 March 2022
I'm still waiting for a call from the progress team which I was promised on Sunday.
@katez1992 yes, at the Durham office.
Keep calling them, I got lucky one day and got straight through to the processing team. I asked if a note could be added to my application and the lady on the phone sent an email about my application to the Durham office. It got approved the next day. I don’t know if that was just coincidence, but it’s worth trying. Good luck!
