Just wondering anyone have a time frame to when they recieved their passport by courier? Got an email 7th June says passport printed and sent by secure delivery. Got a txt from passport office the following morning 8th June saying passport will be sent to the address gave. Still no passport yet and no tracking details from couriers. I have rang TNT and they haven’t got anything that matches my reference number nor have DHL. TNT told me they collect all passports and give the ones for Europe delivery to DHL who in turn re label and send out, at which time I should recieve tracking info from DHL. As we are in the Republic of Ireland I know it won’t be next day delivery like most of you have luckily got in the UK. I’m just worrying wondering is the passport still sitting in the printing office and even been collected yet!! Currently on hold to HMPO the last hour trying to get some advice on where it is now. Due to fly Monday 13th June. Has anyone just recieved the passport from DHL without any tracking or delivery text/email notifications? Thanks in advance.

@Caz86 have you tried using the number without the PEX on the courier tracking site? I have seen others on here who tracked that way.

Hi @Upsidedown yes I've tried that and given that number to both TNT and DHL over the phone and its showing nothing. Just off the phone from HMPO and told it was printed at Central print location and could still be waiting there to be collected by TNT :( they did give me a different track and trace number for it that it has been given, so I'm currently on hold to TNT to try and find out if it's even been collected by them at all. Apparently they only collect Mon-Fri so it's highly unlikely I'll receive now before our flight on Monday. I just want to know if I'll get it by even Tues of next week as I can re book my flights at a highly increased price...and fly out on Wednesday at the latest.

Hello! I submitted my adult passport for renewal on the 3rd May as I was unable to submit sooner due to travelling. I was also hoping to get a fast track but after being unable to for a week I decided to bite the bullet and submit the normal way. I travel on the 25th June and this is my timeline so far - Application submitted: 3rd May Applicated received: 3rd May Documents received: 16th May Then today 10th June, I received a text saying that they had received my passport today. Even though I got an email on the 16th saying that they received it then. Has anyone had a similar experience? I've called and emailed but it seems that won't change anything and I'm not sure they'll let me upgrade as I submitted under the 10 week mark. Starting to feel very stressed now and just at a loss of what I can do. Will just have to sit tight!

Caz I only got a text on the morning my passport was due to be delivered which was 2 days after it was printed. Both dhl and tnt were used to deliver mine and out of the 3 only 1 tracking number was updated.it only seems to work once it’s been received at the depot which is typically the night before it’s due ti be delivered. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow for you

Erb, from what others have said if you have been told the documents were received twice its usually because it’s been transferred internally to another office. For my 3 which were sent to Durham they stayed at documents received for about 3 weeks before being approved. Hopefully yours won’t be much longer

Thanks @Wanting3 that puts my mind at ease a little bit. I spoke to TNT earlier and they didn't seem to have anything matching my PEX number or the track and trace number HMPO gave me today. They said they pick up late afternoon and evening from the Central print location so I'm hoping it gets collected today as the next pick up won't be till Monday.

Anyone else approaching 10 week wait and getting extremely frustrated now! I have emailed, I have phoned and even have my local Mp on the case. Just feel like I have been pushed to the back of the que when I applied in good time for my holiday in July. Going to miss online check in next week now 😞

That's really unfair. I read all about the troubles and was panicking I'd submitted mine too late. Is yours a renewal or a new passport?

Caz, hopefully it will arrive. Tnt are definitely the worse for updating tracking. It’s really frustrating but until it’s at your local depot it won’t be trackable. It’s likely the first tracking you will get is from dhl when it’s out for delivery.

@Helly87 we’re in exactly the same boat, just stuck, allowed plenty of time, now nearly at 10 weeks. Spoken to them, emailed, used chat and my MP has been in touch with them and nothing has changed, so frustrated with it all, now trying to work out if it is best to upgrade when I hit 10 weeks or wait till 14 days before to make sure I can get the passport in my hand rather than going to central print, 10 weeks for us is about 18 days before we travel.

It's an adult renewal but has a name change due to marriage. Wish I had just kept my maiden name now. So frustrating, think your ok aslong as doesn't go into processing status. My sister in law was waited 14 weeks for hers 😭

I’ll try again. I emailed proof of flights - 17/06 on 31 May. Got an automatic reply 04/06 saying We’re working through upgrade requests by the date you need your passport. We will contact you in time to meet this date. We can only help those that need a passport in the next 2 weeks and have evidence to support this. But it’s still in processing- has been since 25/05. Anyone else done this if so what happened

Emailed proof of flights, still no reply. When they emailed and asked for proof we received reply in less than 24 hours. Now that we’ve sent proof, no reply in 4 days. Been in processing since 27 April. Still nothing… flight is 21 June. This is extremely frustrating. Imposssible to get a hold of a human to speak to !!

HELLY87 and BRUSSELS83 i was in this situation last week. I rang advice line, pressed 8 then 3 and asked for urgent call back, they can request these I received call about an hour and half later and spoke to progress team told them i needed passport within 2 weeks as balance due and that I was feeling very anxious They put an alert on the application and it was approved, printed and delivered in4 days. It s worth a try

Eagles6 was that during office hours not when they’re closed obviously. And did you press 8 and 3 immediately or after certain stages of the info message? Thanks

Yes, rang mid afternoon. Dialled and pressed 8 as soon as automated voice spoke. Listened until they said if....press 1 then i pressed 3. Never waited more than 5 mins for a connection. This is to advice line. Be persistent, ask to speak to a manager then ask to arrange urgent call back from progress team

Thank you, rang for a call back on Friday still waiting. If haven't received it by Monday evening I will try again, will be fed up of hearing from me soon.

ike many others on this forum I too applied from overseas (USA) and have been anxiously reading this forum whilst I waited for both my new passport and old passport (with my US work visa) to be returned. My application was submitted online on 20 March 2022 and was finally processed on 27 April 2022. It was processed by the Durham office and it took about 3 weeks for them register they had received my old passport even though I sent it by courier immediately after I applied. After that and once it started processing, it was about 2 days before it was completed and sent via DHL (28 April). I received it on 2 May. I received a text from DHL to say it was on its way on 28 April and continued to get tracking updates via text. My big issue was getting my old passport with my US work visa as a) I could not leave the counry and re-enter without it. US passport control were adamant about this in spite of having Global Entry and copies of my visa which US immigration also has on their system and b) I needed it for employment verification. Like many of you, I made repeated calls to the progress team 0300 105 0850, waiting for hours on end, getting cut off and starting the process again. The progress team did send emails to the Durham office to expedite my old passport’s return but these were not replied to. I also tried the UK consulate in New York for help (they declined), emailed Durham office directly (Durham@hmpo.gov.uk) and my local MP (based on where I used to live). For the latter two, I did this around 31 May once I had been waiting four weeks for my passport to be returned. I did not receive a reply from either Durham or my local MP but it soon did not matter because miraculously on 6 June I received a text from DHL informing me my supporting documents were being returned. I also received an email from HMPO advising the same. I received my old passport on 7 June (6 weeks after I received my new passport) with regular text updates from DHL. Thank goodness they did not clip the visa page when they clipped the corner of the old passport! I wish you all luck in receiving your new passports and your supporting documents. This has been a ridiculously stressful process and I appreciate all the advice I read on here so sharing this in case it helps others.

EAGLES6, which number did you ring? Have travel booked for 21 June and am currently in USA and need passport ASAP!!

Finally after pestering the passport office through calls/ emails we got a call back saying the passport had been sent to print 3 days ago (Friday). We leave for Canada on Friday this week (June 17)- what has been the time between sending for printing and actually receiving the passport in the mail?? Do we have a chance of receiving our passport before our flight? This was a paper application that took over 10 weeks to process (submitted March 31st via post office).
