My old passport was sent in on February 4th, passport office acknowledged receipt of documents on 12th February. Now 18 days later and still saying documents were received. Starting to get a bit frustrated as I have a visa application for working abroad to complete and I need the new passport number. It's definitely taking longer than I thought it would.

How long have people found it between application approved and delivery?

Another day with no progress for me unfortunately. been at processing stage for 2 weeks. Was told nicely but unhelpfully they cant do anything until 10 weeks have passed to speed things up...

Sent adult renewal to Bootle office on the 10th, royal mail delivered on 14th, say they received it on the 24th…still waiting for any other updates since documents received..slightly worried as supposed to be travelling 9th of March! Have emailed them and received nothing back. still on call back lists!

You are in a similar situation to me I am going to contact jet2 to see how much it would be to move our holiday and how late we can do it before we fly! Hope you get some progress soon I've got a few friends who have had new passport applications processed and delivered in 3 weeks from Bootle lately so hopefully won't be long

I am about ready to give up, need the passport for 4 weeks on Monday, been processing for 14 days today

Jespop30, mine is the same 2 weeks today. Surely it cant take much longer to move forward. Have you heard what the max time people have waited for processing by any chance?

No I haven't sorry, but a gentleman about a week ago had put his kids had been processing for about 16 days and I haven't seen him reply since so I am hoping they got approved. Seems like too many applications get sent to Liverpool office so they can't keep up

Mine has been processing for 10 days today - simple renewal, no changes. I called again as I've not had a callback from Sunday and added a note to the file to say tomorrow is the last day I can cancel and get a refund on my flight. The latest it could be approved and sent for me would be Monday to make sure I have it in time for my Thursday flight. I'm really not holding out much hope as Liverpool does seem slower.

I'm still waiting for processing!!! Been 3 weeks now. Applied 21st Jan and I fly for work a week today I don't think there is anything else I can do. I don't understand what is taking so long. This is driving me crazy!!

Although i have had no contact from TNT, my tracking info uodated today and should be delivered tomorrow. That will be exactly four weeks since i first applied for my renewal.

Chelsea91 - it’s honestly ridiculous that they don’t seem to have a system to fast track people who are calling them on a daily basis. I have my fingers crossed for you!

I am also waiting for processing!! Going to keep ringing tomorrow and see if they can offer any info as would need to cancel/reschedule flights!! I hope you find out soon

Hi all, Slightly panicking now. Just got off the phone to Liverpool. Lady said it is unprecedented times and they are suffering serious delays. Allow up to 10 weeks from the time they mark documents received!!! Documents were marked received 15th Feb, no movement since. It is for a child renewal and we are travelling mid April so I assumed (wrongly) that I had allowed plenty of time. Completely stressed 😫

I've not heard of anyones taking that long to be honest. Renewals seem to be taking a week afte documents have been recieved according to others on this forum

I noticed everyone else was receiving upda4ws quicker. I'm hoping there is no issue with it as its been over 2 weeks since last update. I'm hoping I would have heard if anything amiss 🤞

Has a second message to say they have received my old passport. First got that exact same message on 12th February and then again today. So frustrating.

lisam1988 - which office did you send your document? bootle or Liverpool?

We applied on the 9th Feb and the passport went to the printers on the 28th with a email yesterday to say that the passport was on its way , that was over 25 hours ago and TNT have still not got the passport. We really could have done with the passport today, but thats not going to happen, Just hope we have it by Saturday at the latest. I expected from printing to delivery would be 3 days. Interested to know others time scale from printing to its on its way to going live on tracking to delivered

I’m on the same place, although TNT have moved my delivery date from today to tommorow. I need it for Saturday!

hsr - I sent it to the Bootle office. I also had a phone call from them on Friday enquiring why I was applying with 2.5 years left before expiry (I am planning on moving abroad and need the security of a fresh passport). The woman said that was usually the case and that they were now processing my application and it shouldn't be too much longer. So it was very odd to get another passport received text!

The gentleman I spoke to this morning said it's taking about 20 days to be allocated to an examiner

Jespop30- Is that 20 days since the first date of processing? I think examiners work on Saturdays so if so I’ll be at 20 days this coming Saturday might not completely give up hope that I will come by Tuesday :s
