Ours has just been approved - told its been printed too, but no way to avoid it going to tnt...this is the bit that i do not get. They know we're desperate amd when we travel...how could anyone not allow us to pick it up so its in hand.

My wife is on her way back from London (255 miles away) passport office after cancelling my first application and having to now fast track this application so hopefully it comes in time, especially after having to move our holiday back 10 days, where now a lot of places & booked activities will be closed for the season… lesson learned

OMG chinstroker - what a rollercoaster! Here’s hoping TNT come through How did you manage that Scottcardo? When I rang and tried to upgrade to fast track they said I would have to wait for old passports to come back first, which would take a couple of weeks

Yeah... bizarre we are waiting on news from TNT now. Said it went to print this morn. As soon as I hear its with TNT I'll get on to them to see if we can get it from their hub if nothing else... otherwise we may still have to get a later flight out 😬

After an absolute ordeal this last week, we are heading on holiday now. We missed our flight this morning, but have booked a later flight so lost about 12 hours of our holiday. The passport office were frankly a disgrace in their cm service, and we ONLY have our passport by breaking the 'rules' to go and find which tnt depot had it and beg them for it (though told this depot do not offer collection). Tnt were in this case the heros, and although limited in their options to help us did more than HMPO. I will put a more in depth overview on once I'm settled on Cyprus! £400 worse off for the flights and taxi other end - should charge it back to HMPO. Had we not have done our own donkey work we'd still not have our passport today!!

Child renewal - docs received 17th (actually 13th)...... Need back 15th at the very latest...... Very anxious as well.....

I am waiting on three renewals, wife and two kids. Wife and daughter were straightforward online process, however for some reason the lady who verified my daughters photo online was not allowed to verify my son's photo online (phoned up and the guy basically couldn't give me an answer) so had to get lady to use paper form which went to a Peterborough address. I still have his expired passport here, they have the paper form but have not asked for the passport to the Bootle address. Should I send it anyway, using his PEX code? Travelling on 21st Oct to France for family wedding but not very hopeful we will get there. Says online 5 weeks for Adult/kids renewals and I submitted on this timeframe. What happened to the fastrack service for 1 week service? Tried to ring them this morning at 8am, on hold for 25 mins then engaged tone, get cut off! fc

You can do a 1 week for your sons ...and id probably do that if you have the passport in hand. I wouldn't send it, cos once you do its 1-2 weeks to get it back if you want to fastrack. Personal opinion would be save yourself the stress, book a 1 wk fast track for your son asap and dont send off the passport.

Seems passports are such a joke. Why is it taking weeks for a simple renewal? I’m about to lose thousands and no one will help. Had my passport a month and won’t tell me why it hasn’t moved. More infuriated because of Brexit it’s expired when I still had a year on it. They told me not to book travel. It was booed before any eu rule change. Phoned cut off endless times no call backs. Useless

Just been told by Liverpool office no chance we will get a first time passport by the time we travel on 20th October .... The reason his name doesn't match his mums name on her birth certificate, but it clearly says maiden name on birth certificate. However cannot say if they need any more information. Just tough basically.

To be fair we were told to cancel our holiday qnd absolutely no chamce we'd get ours in time. Although technically true, we flew out the date we planned. However, we were told no chance of even being the same week.

Give them a call and check, but was fold the existing one could be cancelled (but no refund given) and the new fastrack wpuld superceed it. The main thing is you still have the passport...and that is in your favour. We didnt as we sent it straight away... therefore you can do a 1 wk fasttrack, we could ONLY do that once we had the passport back in hand, which would have taken up to 2 weeks to get back out the system. Seen others take your route and be successful. Believe me we would have snapped your hand off to be in your position!

How do people get through to the office? Number just rings out....... Simple child renewal here.....not sure what is so difficult!

Ring the 0300 123 1973 no....and wait...you will get through eventually

Update ! Interview next Wednesday for 1st adult passport. Anyone know how long after we could get the passport ? We fly 20/10

Anyone know what date Bootle are working on at the minute? We've got 2 renewals we're waiting for: - 1 child passport, old one received 19th Sept - 1 adult passport, old one received 21st Sept Flying next Friday so pretty stressed right now!

Child Renewal for us Documents Received 17th September Approved 7th October Not Received yet though.....

Wife and Child renewals Wife Applied 17/9 Received 24/9 (was delivered on 20th) Waiting since Child Applied 14/9 Received 17/9 (was delivered 15th) Approved 7/10 Delivery 9/10 (expected according to TNT) We are travelling on 14th so our plan is to change flights on Monday if we don't hear back by then.

I'd find out which tnt your docs are coming from and go get them? Better than re arranging flights? We were told we categorically couldnt do that...but narrowed it down to which depot it was coming from through a phone call to TNT, and just turned up at the respective depot. They handed our passport over just like that!

I have our child renewals back! Submitted 8th September Identity Checked 10th September Documents received 17th September Approved 7th October Delivered 11th October – today Woohoo……thank goodness; won’t be cutting it this fine again! Hope everyone gets sorted – this site has been invaluable! Definitely think that ringing the number given to me the other day helped…..lady in the phone was lovely as well
