I had to renew for damage passport. A bit stressful for renewal as I had a travel booked already but didn’t notice my passport was damaged just before we go holiday. Thank God it arrived in time

I went to Max Spilemann to submit my form who were great, I’m a frequent flyer so had a 2 week window to apply even though I had 5 years left on my passport due to lack of pages, the tracking from MS showed my passport arrived the next day but my HMPO tracking said it took a week, that’s my only gripe… a great forum to track and see everyone’s different gripes… well done. Applied in the afternoon of 7th April and posted old passport (which expired 23 years ago) same day from a regular post box. System updated as documents received and application approved early hours of Saturday morning. New passport received 15/04/26.

I expected it to take longer when the website suggests within 3 weeks of documents received

Application online on 31.3.26, old passport sent same day. Recorded as delivered by Royal Mail on 1.4.26 but not acknowledged received by passport office until 5.4.26 (this was the Easter weekend) Approved 12.4.26, printed 14.4.26, received 15.4.26 Overall 15 days which is fine given the Easter weekend in the middle

Maybe a slight delay because I lost the Days over Easter

I did also change my name. However it took 5 days from them receiving my documents (according to RM) to them being marked as received.
