Hi Steff My sons was 12 days from being delivered to the passport office (12/5/2022) via RM next day recorded delivery to being updated that it had been received on 24/5/2022 I am constantly worried and having sleepless nights my sons passport won't be back and we travel 24/7/2022 Looking at other peoples comments I hope it will be printed in a few days. It is looking like a 3-4 week turnaround to have the passport printed so you should be fine. I would think you will receive a notification that it has been received by the end of May.

Hi Sharon Thank you for your response. I'm the same worrying all the time that they're going to be issues and my daughters passport's won't be returned in time. I just recieved confirmation an hour ago that her old passport has finally been recieved at Hemel Hempstead so that's a relief. But now I've had a message of HMPO that I need to provide proof of parental responsibility for my other daughter so I now need to send birth certificate. I hope they don't take too long to recieve that now too. Seems to never end I'm sure I provided all this when they had their first passport so it's a nightmare. Hi Steff Its really surprising isn't it that they want a birth certificate when its a passport renewal ? I would of thought that would have all been verified from the original passport you sent ? From what I have seen on here, further documents don't seem to take as long to be received for some reason. My son was 15 when I renewed his last passport. Now he has a beard and is 20 but to date I have not had a request for a countersignature which worries me as he does look different. To top it off, I didn't even need to send it for this holiday as we are going to Cyprus which only requires 3 months to be left on the passport. He had 5 months left but due to the media frightening me, I thought 6 months was what he should have. Its so worrying isn't it :( I am sure you will be fine. Good luck to you and both your daughters. I don't think you should be worried Steff. I am planning to go on holiday end of June and I am not too worried. My passport was delivered signed for on 14th and Documents Received happened on 24th. I am expecting Application Approved to be early next week and by end of week I expect to have my passport. This is all based on many other experiences I have read so I don't think what I'm saying is even optimistic. If you're going holiday in August you have nothing to worry about. Worst case scenario, you call them up, say someone in your family is ill and you have to visit them and they will give you option to upgrade to 1 day premium or 1 week fast track service. I personally would not recommend as I have seen that these applications are usually done within 1 week from Documents Received stage anyway, so no point wasting your money. If you can't get through by phone, just keep pressing # on your dial pad and the operator will get confused and eventually divert you to an actual human being to talk to.

Update on passport application from child to adult passport. A verification of identity was never requested. It has now gone for printing. I can not say how relieved we are ! so turn around will be 3 weeks on 1st June. Many sleepless nights and stressing for nothing. That's great news! So happy you've got your passport approved and now awaiting delivery. Bet that's such a relief and now you can finially relax.. Ive not had any further updates since last week... My eldest passport was recieved on Thursday 26th May so awaiting further updates on that application tracker. let's hope this just get approved and they don't require proof of parental responsibility like my youngest daughter. My youngest daughters passport was recieved on Monday 23rd May. Thursday 26th May they've requested I changed photo so uploaded new photo straight away and they've requested proof of parental rresponsibility.Sent birth certificate on friday 27th May and royal mail shows that this was recieved and signed for this morning so hopefully I will have some sort of update this week on her application. Let's hope it's straight sailing after all this got my fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Thank you Steff. I think we may add a passport party to the Queens Jubilee celebrations! I am sure you will have good progress on both passports next week taking into account the bank hols. Both your daughters passports are definitely being actioned now so I think you can also try to relax. It is so worrying. I will keep a look out for your updates ! x

Good news my eldest daughter passport has been approved just waiting on it to be printed and dispatched 😁 so in all a 3 week turnaround to get to here which aing bad.. Application approved 8:17am on 6 June 2022 Documents received 4:42pm on 26 May 2022 Application received 8:33pm on 15 May 2022 Application submitted 8:32pm on 15 May 2022 Hopefully I'll have an update on my youngest daughter's passport this week too as her birth certificate was recieved on 30th May via royal mail tracking. Once its been scanned through and approved it hopefully shouldn't take too long to get approved also got my fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻

That's fantastic news I glad you've recieved your sons passport 😀 now you can be stress free and look forward to your holiday! I've been on the phone to passport office this afternoon and they've applied a like for like on her documents from her previous passport application, the women I spoke to was confused as to why they asked for parental responsibility in the first place as it was a renewal. I've now been assured that the application is now ready for approval I just need to wait for a couple of days for it to be updated on the tracker. Happy Mummy just awaiting for updates now hopefully in the next couple of days!!

Just wanted to share my experience with you as this forum gave me a lot of hope.. Passport submitted 16/05/22 Old passport signed for 17/05/22 Documents received 26/05/22 Passport approved 06/06/22 Passport delivered 09/06/22. 3 weeks & 3 days in total , and that’s with the jubilee bank holiday ! Good luck to anyone waiting.

Does anyone have a telephone number to speak to a real person I just keep getting automated messages… I have tried 03002220000 and 03001231973… been waiting 11 weeks for daughters renewal been processing since 25th April.. holiday soon really don’t want to cancel!

Thankyou steff, finally spoke to a real person… sadly put me on hold for 1hr 21 mins to be told they had put me through to wrong person (cleaners staff room 🥴)and couldn’t redivert call so had to start again… to be put on hold for another 53 minutes… they hung up!!!! 😡 🤬😤😖 gonna have cuppa calm down and try again…

Oh no it sounds like your having a nightmare of a time.. hopefully you'll get it sorted today especially as it's been 11 weeks that's you've been waiting.. A little heads up ask them to put you through to the progress team as they're the only ones that can access your application and progress it further.. I've been on the phone to them today and my youngest daughter application has finally been approved. Good luck I hope you get your daughter passport sorted soon!! :)

Thanks Sharon I'm glad it's finally all been sorted I found that persistance was key for this to be were it now as it still probably would of been processing if I hadn't called them and got the progress team to sort it.. Very happy mummy I can finally relax and wait for our family holiday!! Xx

Another encouraging post. My husband realised on 25th May that his passport had expired and he was going away 19th June. We dithered about fast track v normal application, but on line is so much easier that we took the risk and it looks like we will be OK. Printed today (a Sunday) after application was submitted on line evening of 25th May. They probably actually received the old passport 27th May, so passport was printed 16 days after the documents were actually received, 10 days after they were logged as received, and this with the jubilee weekend in the middle. As long as TNT is OK (fingers and toes crossed), should receive it middle of the week, so less than 3 weeks after application. Good luck to people who are worried. I filled in the survey on the "Manage your Application" page last week and e-mailed the upgrade team (no reply) and sent a message to the twitter team asking them to note travel date on file (no reply) so have no idea whether any of those actions made a difference! Quite worried about by passport renewal application, especially reading how quickly others have received theirs on this site. Applied online on 28 April, but then couldn't find my old passport, even though it's always kept in the same place (still a mystery - still not turned up! Getting suspicious of the dog....). So had to report it lost, wait for a reference number, then write BY POST ONLY (?!) to the Hemel Hempstead passport office, which was all completed within 1.5 weeks of application. Didn't get an acknowlegement of receipt until 23 May, over two weeks after having posted letter. Since then there has been no progress. My tracking information still says 'we have received your old passport' (I'm assuming they mean my letter). It's been at that stage for 6 weeks now?? I can't get any useful information from HMPO, and I have travel planned for 15 July! (a rescheduled concert from 2020 that I wasn't going to bother going to but at last minute decided to try, and applied for passport with 10 weeks grace - but of course this got scuppered by not finding my old passport). Is it worth me turning up at the Hemel Hempstead passport office and waiting to be seen? Any advice - or do I just have to ride the stress wave and hope for the best?

Hi this is number I called 03001231973 I chose option 8 and then option 3. They were really helpful with my application. tell them you need to speak to progress team as they're the only ones who can progress your application hope this helps! Good luck
