Lost/Stolen passport took 54 days, and I think it would have been longer if I hadn't got through to the Upgrade team. Even though it hasn't been printed yet, I've been told over the phone that I can collect it today from the Glasgow office (which is closer, although still 3 hours drive). Not sure why my application went to Liverpool in the first place as I live in north Scotland... Application history Status Date Application approved 10:48am on 14 July 2022 New photo received 10:17am on 14 July 2022 Photo rejected 10:04am on 14 July 2022 Identity details received 11:43am on 23 May 2022 Email sent to person confirming your identity 10:12am on 23 May 2022 Ask someone to confirm your identity 6:14pm on 21 May 2022 Application submitted 6:14pm on 21 May 2022

Little bit of info for anyone going down the office. I went this morning first thing, arrived at 6. There was about 20 people ahead. At around 8am one of the senior staff came out and told everyone they; Wouldn't see anyone who didn't have an application in the system And it needed to have been 10 weeks From there they prioritise people based on the day they are due to fly NOT when they arrived....I.e people flying in the next 24 hours went first, regardless of where they were in the queue. Then 48 hours. Then 72 etc. They had 2 gents outside who sporadically checked the queue outside asking when people's flights are due and taking them to the front as needed. At the same time anyone who had managed to get an appointment went straight in at there scheduled time. Unfortunately this wasn't great for me as I am not flying till a week Saturday and seeing how slow the progress is realised I either wouldnt get seen today at all and / or it was more sensible to leave and go back later next week (so I left around 11.30 after arriving at 6am!). At 11.30 they were still working on Sundays flights btw and had around "another hour" till they got to mondays flights.

My passport application journey has been a longgggg one. Applied 21st of April after naturalization Application received 4th of May and that was the last update I received. I called more than 100 times, escalated to the upgrade team, escalated to the expedited service, Also got my MP involved and all my efforts just proved frutile. During this time I cancelled my holiday twice and had to rebook. Did some research and found out I could get my passport if my application has been over 6 weeks and in my case 12 weeks and if I will be flying in the next 48 hours. So I travelled down to the passport office in Liverpool, the journey took 2hrs from where I live. Got there at 7am today 16th of July and I got seen at 10.30. My passport application was approved 11am today and I collected my passport at 12 noon. If you are in the same situation, my advice to you is to travel to your passport office to get your passport. It does not matter where your application is being looked at. 12weeks wait was sorted in 2 hours. Thanks and goodluck to everyone still waiting. Flying out on monday happy days!!!!

Godisgood12 yes, you're story correlates with mine (see previous post to yours) in that if you go down to the office make sure it is within 48 hours of your flight and you will be seen *relatively* quickly! If its longer than that - like mine was - you're best off leaving it as you will be waiting too long. Well done by the way 👏 hopefully ill be in the same boat come Thursday morning / afternoon

Hi dan_hughes and Godisgood12, Can I ask a quick advice - my passport application has been at Liverpool since the 20th April, I am also flying on the 21st July. Do you think I can go to the Victoria office (rather than Liverpool) or shall I attempt to go to Liverpool? Thank you so much!

Passport type: Child First Passport Passport printed 12:49pm on 26 July 2022 Application approved 12:11pm on 26 July 2022 Documents received 2:11pm on 5 July 2022 Use paper form to confirm identity 2:23pm on 24 June 2022 Person not eligible 2:18pm on 24 June 2022 Email sent to person confirming your identity 2:12pm on 24 June 2022 Ask someone to confirm your identity 4:13pm on 23 June 2022 Application submitted 4:13pm on 23 June 2022 I would like to mention that I made the application online but I managed to get the passport only because I traveled to the Liverpool office and queued outside the HM Passport Office. They were ok to see me only because I had to travel in the next 48 hours.

Hi All, I would really appreciate any help or advice First adult passport, I have been calling every day for 2 weeks and was told that today 29/7/22 I could get an upgrade, called today and it seems nobody has even checked or realized this was an adult first time passport so today told cancel your holiday as haven't even got to the stage of getting interview etc no checks have been done albeit its been 7 and half weeks since they received it, we travel on the 17th Aug to Florida so this is then 10 weeks so not eligible for expedite Shall i go to Liverpool? If so when are they open for walk ins and can anything be done? We cannot wait to 10 weeks as this is our travel date just wondered if anyone has any advice or contacts to speed this up to ensure we actually have our holiday. Praying for a miracle

@Lisamarie I've been told the same thing, all they offered me is to send a letter (!) to the passport office and ask for my foreign passport to be returned; but without knowing if the documents have been checked so that could reset the clock?! so essentially even after being naturalised we are still second class citizens...
