Anyone have any updates in regards to the manual review of passports at the Liverpool office? Mines in processing and wondering if anyone has a processing stage success story other than 6-8 weeks.

Here's our timeline for our child's first passport. We applied online and documents sent to Bootle. We had also submitted a request to upgrade 14days prior to travel but was never called back. The upgrade request was sent to the London office as that's our closest. Perhaps a coincidence, but the application was approved last Friday 13th which may be why we didn't get called. We travel this Sunday 21st May. The passport was posted by DHL this morning. Best of luck to everyone! Adult Renewal passport so far: Base on online application Documents received 1:25pm on 19 May 2022 Old passport actual date received 1:30pm on 9 May 2022 Application received 4:34pm on 6 May 2022 Old Passport sent by track and sign 5:30pm on 6 May 2022 Application submitted 4:34pm on 6 May 2022 Stil waiting for the next process. I have read a lot and do my logistic and here is the current waiting time: Old passport to be acknowledged by passport agency: 10-12 days after sent Application approval: 2/3 days after old passport been acknowledged. Mine was actually super quick - 3 weeks! Standard Adult Renewal - Application submitted 28 April 2022 Documents posted 29 April 2022 Documents signed for 02 May 2022 Documents received 12 May 2022 Application approved 14 May 2022 Passport printed 16 May 2022 Passport delivered 19 May 2022 I was super panicky due to all the articles online etc, then regretted not doing fast track immediately after posting my old passport. I requested a callback from the passport advice line (don't try holding, callbacks are within an hour) and they said if I still hadn't received my passport 2 weeks before my scheduled departure I could get an immediate upgrade to fast track without an interview (really handy to know!). Also really recommend posting your old passport with signed next day delivery. Not on Friday though, it goes to a retention centre, I didn't know what that meant so thought it was lost... turns out they just deliver on the next available day. Has anyone got any experiences in dealing with the upgrade team in Liverpool? Sent an email on Friday, I’m due to fly on 3/06 and I’m stressing about getting it upgraded to be rushed through in time. How long does it take for them to get back to you? Should I wait for an email or phone call? Is just sending one message enough? Thanks in advance

Generally speaking, how long is the delay between when the courier acknowledges the delivery of the documents to when it updates on the tracking site? Because it has been over 3 weeks since my documents supposedly arrived at the Liverpool passport office

Normally it takes around 10-12 days for the passport to be acknowledged by passport agency. If you sent it on Friday then you need to add extra 2 days on top. I think it depends on either renewal or first uk passport and also the date that you applied. You can ask for passport upgrade using the upgrade email or you can message your local MP to help you if you need it urgently.

Child first passport.. sent 23rd April and even though it was delivered next day, it was acknowledged 11th April and nothing since. Do I count the 10 weeks from when I sent it or from their acknowledgment? Any one else applied around this time with any success? Thank you

Update from me. Ive seen a few posts about getting documents back. This may give an idea of timeline. Daughter 1 - All Finished (Documents received back) Application online – 19th April Passport physically arrived in the post room via special delivery – 21st April Old passport officially received – 4th May Passport application approved – 6th May Passport printed – 8th May Passport received – 10th May Documents advised as being posted back by RM - 27 May Documents received - 30 May Daughter 2 first child passport to Bootle is [documents received by Passport Office] Application online 3 May 2022 Royal Mail confirmed delivery to postroom (with a signature this time) – 5 May Documents officially received – 16th May Ill keep updating to give others a rough timeline.

Application approved 8:24am on 4 June 2022 Documents received 7:44am on 18 May 2022 Application received 3:09pm on 4 May 2022 Application submitted 3:09pm on 4 May 2022 The application approved bit was a little strange, when I first got a text on saturday morning, it said Approved and Sent for Printing, a couple of hours later it said Currently Printing and you will be informed when ready... I have called a couple of times and the chaps at the other end have been very understanding and pleasant, can't fault the process really, just the squeaky bottom-ness of it all... In a bit of a pickle at the moment, travelling on the 17th for Work, really hoping it turns up in the next day or two...

I wanted to share my experience as I was checking this forum daily. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones. Adult renewal I managed to get a fast track weekly appointment at Liverpool for my adult renewal. Attended on the 30th May 9.30am. Walked straight in because I had an appointment. Whole process was done in 30 mins. The staff were amazing and very friendly. Even had a nice buzz about the place as everyone was in the same boat. Passport arrived 5 days later!!! Child’s 1st passport This is the one that kept me up late worrying. Application submitted 2nd May Identify details received 2nd May Application received 2nd May Documents sent 4th May Documents received 13th May Application approved 31st May Passport printed 2nd June Passport officially in my hand 6th June Any tips - keep positive (if you can). Before applying online try and get a fast track appointment instead. I kept refreshing every hour for a few days! The extra cost is worth it. If you can’t don’t delay sending documents and pay for tracking. Good luck everyone.

Hi, I have a few questions: 1. Are Bootle & Liverpool Passport offices the same? Does anyone have the address? 2. I understand that the waiting time is from the time the application was submitted to receipt. However, I would like to know if this includes weekends and bank holidays? 3. My documents were received on 29th April and confirmed on the website. However, I received another text on 7th June saying that my documents have been received. What does it mean? The website shows it as the earlier date though. The application is for a child damaged passport replacement.

Hi Robi I was in a similar position as you, just got mine approved (I submitted my application 24/3/22) There’s no clear guideline as to when this ‘10week’ clock start - possibly intentional so no one can really complain of delays. I ended up asking my MP for support as I was getting absolutely no where with the passport office. Whether that has anything to do with my application going through after nearly 3 months since applying we will never know but worth trying! Good luck - I will now wait for mine to be printed and delivered- probably another few weeks wait.

He told me my passport and deedpoll have sent back to me on the 3rd of June. I been asked to send my marriage certificate so I did the next day Wed 8th of June to Glasgow (which was weird). On Tue the 7th I had phone call from Passport office it was one of or my examiner… he asked few questions. Then he rang me on the 9th saying that my marriage certificate has been delivered and they have got it and also to confirm that my passport has been approved. On Sunday the 12th I got a message telling me that my passport has been printed and yesterday I got text message about the delivery of my passport So after 97 days I got it And today my missing papers

Update from 7am this morning (21/06/22) - my passport has been printed and has been handed over to thr courier for delivery. Safe to say that this crazy journey has come to an end.

From date of application to new passport being delivered was 15 days for a child renewal at Liverpool.
