I am going to try phoning today - it's been seven weeks since I applied and 4 weeks since I had a phone call from HMPO (they needed to check something regarding my application). I was told at the end of the call that my application was now processing and wouldn't be much longer. It then took another two weeks for it to actually be marked as processing and it's still processing. Need the passport for a Background check to work abroad and to be accepted by the company that is sponsoring my visa. These delays are putting the full thing at risk. Frustrated, anxious, angry.

This is me so far - highs and lows - and now in a hold just waiting for tnt to update so i can stop being so anxious! I spoke to them today (standard 1hr.11 mins to get through for info) and was told it would be 7 working days arfte approval for it to be delivered (this is the guide not guarantee) - i said when will tracking update and was told when tnt collect it - so for me i was approved 17/3 (a week today) so should receive monday / tuesday next week. I will be delighted if that is the case but just cant relax without any tracking to know its happening. Printed 21/3/22 @1142 Approved 17/3/22 @0808 Old docs received on system 16/3/22 @1210 Old passport posted 8/3/22 Submitted 7/3/22 @ 1733

Agghhhh....... Son travelling on 8 April, new passport printed on 22 March, still no update TNT website on delivery! Holiday booked with Irish passport and need it back. Hoping our timeline followsthe same as others here and we have everything 9-10 days from printing, which would mean 1 April..... stressed

Documents sent by First Class post on 10th March, so assume received 11th. Documents marked as received on 25th March, therefore 13 working days to be received (I believe they work Saturdays too). Wish I'd gone special delivery but didn't realise how bad it is there! Hope this puts someone's mind at rest if you're checking every day like me. Also, probably not worth logging in to check, as they email you as soon as received. Save yourself the disappointment of seeing 'SEND US YOUR DOCUMENTS'. They even had the cheek to remind me to send them yesterday...
kel
@moshuntilpanic it wouldn'tof madea difference sending special delivery as my documents were received/signed for the day after I sent them but sat 2 weeks without any movement and I was still getting reminder texts

Whilst I agree it wouldn't have made a difference time-wise, I didn't know if my documents had definitely been received and weren't lost in the post. I ordered another copy and almost sent that off to special delivery just to make sure one got there! Your progress is looking good to receive that passport in time, I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck!
kel
@moshuntilpanic it's been so stressful and the added strain of HMPO not updating their tracking has just added to it. I have rang them 3 times throughout the process and it really depends on who you get on how much help you get. Now waiting on tnt updating so it's like a vicious circle with one another blaming each other for the delay!!
kel
Hallelujah!! just had tnt tracking available hopefully passport will be delivered on Monday 😁

@ ndl.alex0608 have you had any-date yet? Have you been approved?
ndl.alex0608
@llmumma Hi, no I haven't. Been checking every day. I thought it was going to be approved by the end of this week, considering many people get approved after just a few days of their applications being marked as 'document received'. I guess it depends on whether the application is automatically processed or manually done by an examiner. Renewals are usually automatically done. Is your case a renewal or first child? Mine is a renewal but it's for a name change, so I had to send it some documents like deed poll and prooves that I've been using my new name in other documents, meaning it has to be manually processed by someone. So I guess it's gonna take a bit longer than those who are automatically processed.

Does anyone know how long from printing you should receive a passport? I fly on the 5th April and my daughters first passport was printed on the 22nd March and still nothing from TNT I keep getting told multiple things by HMPO like passport will be with you in a week and another person told me it’s 24-48 hour collection from us then TNT take 24-48 hours to deliver but when they’ve collected from us you will get a text, now it’s been longer then both of those 48 hours and still no text.
kel
beckyb my timeline Application history so far: StatusDate Passport printed 5:45am on 22 March 2022 Application approved 9:24am on 17 March 2022 Identity details received 10:46am on 16 March 2022 Email sent to person confirming your identity 8:59am on 16 March 2022 Ask someone to confirm your identity 10:11am on 9 March 2022 Documents received 11:01am on 5 March 2022 Application received 3:31pm on 4 February 2022 Application submitted 3:30pm on 4 February 2022 you can see mine was also printed 22 March I was able to track late Friday 25th afternoon on tnt website with my PEX number and postcode. Mine being delivered Monday 🤞

Beckyb - HMPO say it is taking 5 working days for TNT to collect, then up to 48 hours to deliver, but TNT seem to be scanning the passports and delivering most the day after they scanned. My son's passport was printed on the 23rd and still haven't received tracking. Most people seem to receive their passports about 9/10 days after they have been approved. So mine was approved Monday, with printing on Wednesday, so I technically should have it by this Wednesday all being well, and while others have waited 7 days after being approved for printing, they then get tracking almost instantly.
kel
TNT don't send out tracking information, the text you got saying its been printed, there's a link for TNT. Have you tried tracking with PEX number?
kel
Ps I rang TNT on Friday and they say HMPO are only releasing in batches. At that time no tracking for mine was available
beckyb
Kel - So mine and yours seem to be the same with when it was printed Application sent via post office - 21st February HMPO received - 25th feb Passport printed - 22nd March I don’t have a pex number as the pex is only for online applications mine was a paper application I had to keep calling the passport office for updates lol so all I have is a HMPO 9 digit barcode application number x

Does anyone know if you can ring up and request to pick up the passport before they send it out when it gets approved? I’m thinking my passport is going to be approved/printed the week I go away but that won’t leave enough time to get it delivered to me so I was thinking whether it would be worth trying to pick it up if I can.
kel
beckyb, have you tried putting the 9 digit number into tnt tracking page? Hope yours arrives and hope mine does too!!
marand
@nassao41 have you had any luck trying to pick up? I am thinking on doing the same as we go on holiday soon!
nassao41
Well I’ve been waiting to speak to them via a call back since Thursday. I might ring them tonight but I have a feeling they’ll just tell me I need to wait for another call back. I’m still waiting for it to be approved, jr went to processing on the 16/03/22 and I need it for the 9th April. Getting very stressed and worried now :(
