Hi everyone I and few others have been in touch with watchdog about our concerns. I would advise everyone who has experienced serious failings by HMPO do so

Mine has been stuck for a while in documents received and I was supposed to be traveling this Saturday :( Documents received 8:45am on 23 March 2022 Application received 9:23pm on 2 March 2022 Application submitted 9:23pm on 2 March 2022

I'm the same as you Lisa printed today. Got everything crossed we've pushed holiday back from 8th to 15th now. More money but more chance of getting to go I hope.

Wise decision I think bmor84 - you might have the passport by 8th but it would be 4 days of insane stress between now and then. I am surprised it was printed so quickly after just being approved on Friday now just need to hope TNT are all over it. Though judging by what I have read on here they are a bit hit and miss!

Application submitted - 15 Feb. Passport processed - 9 March. Approved - 4 April. (This is for Liverpool but think timelines are similar)

Can I ask how early you are renewing. Ive been on Documents received stage since 17th March with no such call and technically I still had 6 months on my old one but because these were extended months added to my previous passport issued in April 2012 I had to apply now as the EU are no longer recognising any extended months on a UK passport. .

It doesn't matter mine has never gone to processing just remains on documents received 17th March and I have been told its with an examiner from that date and all applications go through them so dont worry my love im sure its not going to delay you further they just make it sound like that.

Hi, Need some help! Peterborough received my passport renewal (from the post office) 17.03- I chased today and they have received it, but it is currently waiting to be checked. I am due to go on holiday 5.05- is there any hope?? Could I pull my passport and get an urgent one?

Rachel20030: exactly the same situation as you on 17/03/22 my application status changed to processing on this day. I go on holiday on 06/05/22 keep getting different msgs.

I sent 3 passports for renewal at the same time, documents sent 04/03 but received on system on the 23/03. One is still in "Documents received" one is "Processing" and One is Approved and Printed already! So not sure how that happened but as I wont get all back on time, I will have to move my holiday :(

@marand Mine was delivered to them on the 4th March as well, received on the system 21st March. But it's still on 'Document Received', hasn't even gone into processing yet.

@ndl.alex0608 The one that got approved and printed never went into processing, from Documents received it went straight into approved, so hoping that's the case and it doesn't hit processing because from the forum it looks that it takes long to come out of "Processing"!

Application submitted 15th February and in processing since 8th March but today I received the ‘application approved’ text. Was supposed to fly yesterday! Aw well now to play the waiting game for delivery !

Leahmca Sorry if I’ve already asked this but is yours an adult renewal or a first time adult?

Nassao41 - first child passport. Timeframe was 3weeks when I applied otherwise I would have done an express no problem. Learn from our mistakes I suppose.

Passportpanic, what type of application was yours? I’m waiting on a first time adult passport and trying to see any timelines that mine could be the same as

leachmca - mine was approved on Friday, printed on Monday, able to track through TNT on Monday evening and due for delivery tomorrow. Hopefully won't be much longer for you!

I’m currently on hold to the phone number 0300 123 1973 as people have said they are generally more helpful. Any advice as to what I should say for them to help me? I’m desperate for it to be approved soon, we’ve already had to change the holiday and I don’t want to have to cancel it again. But my application has been processing since the 16th March 😕

My applications been in since 17/03/22 processing in Peterborough. I called that number today and they said it's transferred to paper application. Which could now take longer. I'm really concerned I'm not going to make my travels in may

Amirun87 Did they not explain why that had happened? That seems a bit ridiculous if you applied online!

@nassao41: I just got off the phone with them on that number a few hours ago. My case is urgent, I asked for my application to be escalated on compassionate grounds, was given an email address to send in evidence (death certificate, travel date, etc.). I explained to the lady and she was very sympathetic. She asked for the date on which I last sent in the documents as evidence etc. and said she would send a message to my examiner. I called that number last week but was answered by someone rather scary sounding: "how did you get this number?!". So this time I decided to start the conversation by saying "Hi sorry I'm not sure if this is the right number to call about my situation ..." then started explaining

I just got off the phone from that number, the guy told me that it’s not even being checked by the examiner yet as the application has been moved to a different system. He didn’t sound very positive about it even arriving within the 10 week time frame, all I can say is that this has made me feel worse. I don’t understand how it has been processing for 3 weeks and it’s not even been looked at by the examiner 🙄 I also asked if I’d be able to collect the passport and was told this won’t be possible as it’s not an urgent application. My local MP contacted them last week and still nothing has been done, looking like I won’t even be able to go away in May now.

Nassa41: exactly same thing happened to me today. Called the number and a guy called Liam told me it has changed to a paper system. I demanded to talk to someone senior but apparently that isnt possible. mine has been in processing for three weeks and i go away 6th May. It is looking doubtful for me too after that call.
