Adult Renewal (Expiry date on old passport was September 6th). Application received 7:36pm on Fri 24 July 2020 [Old passport sent] 11:46 on Sat 25th July 2020 [Old passport recieved] 07:01 Mon 27th July 2020 Documents received 11:52am on Wed 29 July 2020 Application approved 11:52am on Wed 29 July 2020 Passport printed & sent 1:41pm on Thu 30 July 2020 [New passport received] 07:04 on Mon 3rd August 2020 Considering there were two Sundays in the timeline, they basically took a week to get the new passport out which is excellent. Timeline above is so much faster than I anticipated. The application was submitted with an online photo link which I am convinced made the process faster. @MaxNRG thats quick. I applied for my sons renewal on 21 July only just changed to processing today 3 August. We travel on 12 August so still have a chance.

Good luck getting it before your travel date, that was a big gap for them to start processing. Was there a delay in you sending the old passport or getting the ID approval needed for children’s passports? BTW we ordered a 54 page (Jumbo) passport and got a new Blue/Black example.

Quick update, this week we went from processing to approved to printed and out for delivery. Just tracked it and it will be delivered Monday 10th August, we travel on Wednesday 12th August phew.......so 19 days with lots of phone calls, MP involvement etc.

My is Renew adult passport Application received 3:51pm on 7 September 2020 Application submitted 3:51pm on 7 September 2020 I sent my old passport by royal mail special delivery on the 8th. It's been 4 working days now, I just tracked my passport, it is still showing "Post Your Old Passport"

Hello, Adult renewal timeline below for the Peterborough office: Passport printed and sent 12:34pm on 16 September 2021 Application approved 9:34am on 16 September 2021 Documents received 2:37pm on 27 August 2021 Application received 8:39pm on 21 August 2021 Application submitted 8:38pm on 21 August 2021 Passport received at 11:34 on Friday 17th September, so only 26 hours after being approved! Heard nothing after documents received for almost 3 weeks, then it happened very quickly. Hope this helps.

This is my renewal from Peterborough Submitted 3rd Sept Documents received 10th APPROVED 30th Sept Printed and sent 1st Oct So hopefully with me Monday which will be just over 4 weeks

My partners renewal Application submitted 7/9 Documents Received 15/9 And then nothing… Travelling on the 8/10. Do you think we have a chance?

Ooh that is super tight...I reckon you'll be processed on the 5th and then posted the next day so if its a week day you might get it 7th or 8th if lucky. So stressful isn't it. We were supposed to go tomorrow but had to cancel and postpone to November. I wish you luck!

So stressful! It’s a big family holiday and our Nieces first passport was applied for after his but approved before! Seems to be no rhyme or reason. Hopefully we will receive the dates you stated and then he can join us a couple of days later. The application doesn’t state it’s in the processing queue but when I phoned on Monday they said it was being processed…confused. Hope your holiday in November is spectacular

Hi All, I think it best to give them a call. We tried to call evenings and that seemed pointless, over 45 mins wait each time then they hung up on us. Tried mid-morning and was on the phone for 2 hours then got through to someone. Just be prepared with every single question you can think of!! Application submitted 09/09 Documents Received 16/9 Told everything was correct and passed the "first stage" - whatever this meant?? "best to give them a call in 2-3 weeks if not heard anything. Flying to Iceland 18th November. hoping to see it come back back by the end of next week so I can check in early.

Hurrah!!! I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I spoke to a call handler yesterday after 90 min waiting time and today the passport renewal application has been reviewed by a passport officer and approved. I cried with relief. Hang on in there folks.

That's great news - what were your dates between app submitted, docs received and approval?

Still no update on my side. The status is 'Application being processed'. It's been like that since 27th September.
