You would have to withdraw your on-line application 1st as it not possible to have to concurrent applications in the system. That will probably take longer than waiting for your current application. Putting aside the issue of finding an appointment, which will take more time.
You are only currently 5 days in and in all probability your docs are in a queue waiting to be scanned – I would say there is no reason to be worried at this point in time. It took HMPO 10 days from reciept of my docs to move the tracker to documents recieved on thier system, others have waited a lot longer.
