Hi I applied for my first adult passport on the 26th Feb and sent my supporting documents on the 28th. Should I have had a notification to say they have received the document by now or is it too early for a response? Edit: I sent the birth certificate to Bootle if thats needed information

It is taking 8 working days to be uploaded onto the system. And rayray777, I would be ringing as that seems an awfully long time for documents to be uploaded

I thought so myself panick mode now

I sent my docs on 16th feb (recorded so they were delivered 17th) but the system was only updated 28th feb to say they were received . So I prob wouldn’t panic just yet. Processing passport started 8th March. Also Peterborough office.

Thankyou I can’t tell you how many times I’ve checked for updates 😂

I'm in the same situation as the original poster. I sent my documents on 28 Feb via signed delivery, and I got confirmation that they arrived in Peterborough on the 1st of March. So far, there's no update in the system. I'm an EU citizen with settled status who naturalised in February (with no effect on my other citizenship). Does anyone know if it's still legal to travel using my EU identity card + settled status? Obviously I can enter the EU, but will I have difficulties at the UK border? I know ID cards are allowed for those with status for another few years, but I'm not sure if naturalisation "voids" settled status. If I try to enter the UK using my ID card, I'll have to see a border agent. If they ask where is my passport and I tell them it's with the UK Passport Office, I don't want to get in trouble. Thanks for any help / advice!

Hi LAD, same here - sent in my passport & naturalisation documents, Tracking shows it arrived on 02/03. Need a passport to travel on 15/04 but won't be able to use ID as travelling long-haul distance. Not sure, if you can still travel with ID, best check with UK Border Force.

Hsr- all first adult passport applicants have to attend an interview. They are currently being held online via video call. :)
hsr
diz17 - there are some exceptions like below: UK and overseas customers we will not interview We must try to recognise customers who are exempt from attending an interview before inviting them to make an appointment. If we have enough information from identity checks, we will not interview an adult customer applying for their first British passport when they: are 70 years old or over unless there are any fraud concerns were naturalised within the last 12 months and UK Visa and Immigration service’s records confirm the customer’s photo identity and personal details (unless there have been changes to their name since they were naturalised) are members of HM Armed Forces applying for their first British passport are dependants of members of HM Armed Forces and can be verified from Home Office records are members or dependants of members of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and they are also applying for a Diplomatic or Official passport

How long does the application processing usually last?

I’m getting super stressed, sent first adult passport application on 22 Feb. The documents were sent tracked on 23rd and received on 24th yet still no update from Peterborough passport office to say they have been received. I need the passport to travel on 9th April and worried it’s not going to come now. I’ve called 3 times and waiting for a callback from the progress team but I’m worried they’ve lost the documents or something so it will be delayed even longer :( I hate this waiting game.
rayray777
I sent my sons to Peterborough same dates as you and it not updated as received on the system either I also did recorded I no it’s there 😩
hsr
its taking long to update the documents.
