Adult renewal - change name via PD2 form

HI, Has anyone had any experience with filling out a PD2 form for a renewal passport when they get married. We are going on a honeymoon on the 20th November. We sent all completed documents with a PD2 form from the registrars on the 9th September. I can see most people get a status update or some form of checking but we have received nothing. We tried calling them after work, but this was hopeless.
