Hi just wondering if anyone can help ,I was born in the uk 1977,my mother was American but moved here when her mother died who was English born here,I do not no my father not named on my birth certificate,my mother decided to get me a American passport as a child which is long lost havnt a clue what happened to it don't no if it was cancelled or not as my mother died years ago and I can't ask her ,I have just applied for my first adult uk passport will it affect my application having this American passport as a child I'm just a bit worried, thankyou

When my hubby first applied for a passport 5 years ago we said on the application that he must have at some point had a passport as he’d travelled abroad with his dad but they haven’t seen each other for years and no way of finding out any details about it. They never questioned his reason for not knowing any details. I’m sure they didn’t even mention it in his interview. Not sure if that helps you or not
