Hi all. Has anyone updated their details on their passport as part of the renewal recently? How long did it take?
My timeline:
App submitted: 8th March
Documents sent: 9th March
Documents received (according to RM): 10th March
Documents received (according to HMPO): 25th March
I also got another text today almost 2 weeks after the last update saying they received my documents! They already acknowledged receipt of documents on 25th March! 🙄 I don’t know what’s going on but it’s still not in the processing phase. It’s been over 4 weeks already and they haven’t done anything with it 🙄
When does the 5 weeks they estimate start? From submission or from when they acknowledge they have received the documents? It’s so frustrating because they took over 2 weeks after they documents arrived to acknowledge they arrived 🙄

I emailed them a couple weeks ago and they finally replied yesterday. They said they received my application in Liverpool and it’s currently waiting to be checked 🙄🙄 said that they are currently processing within their timescales of approx 10 weeks. The way they worded it made it seem like the 10 weeks starts from the time it goes into processing 😭😭
My application has been in processing for 4 weeks now (over 8 weeks since application) and hasn’t even been looked at yet. I’m so frustrated by this whole thing because by the time it arrives I’ll be too pregnant to go 😭😭

I phoned a couple of days ago, mine is apparently now being processed in Belfast. I have applied for my application to be expedited under compassionate grounds but this went to the Liverpool compassionate team as my docs went there. I did query this as surely it should be Belfast? - Still not heard anything regardless.
Tbh the stories I have read with regards to the compassionate team haven't filled me with confidence so I think I will be requesting an upgrade come Tuesday anyway.
I am just in the process of emailing my MP to see if there is anything he can do to help.

I don’t have an email address but I filled out this online enquiry form. It says you’ll get a response within 72 hours but it took almost 2 weeks for them to reply to me.

What time did you call them? Everytime I try they just hang up. I’m not even able to wait on hold 🙄
What’s your timeline like? Hopefully your MP can help. It’s shitty feeling so powerless 🙄
Just a tip, I’ve found that you get through to somebody much quicker on the phone by going through the “anything else” route (it’s the same people answering the phone, usually friendlier but that may be a coincidence)

Also asking if you can be transferred to the “customer service management team” once connected can help in urgent circumstances.
I have gone through the option mentioned above the standard phone number then options 8 then 3. I applied 14th March, docs received a couple of weeks later, then second docs received and went to processing 20th April.
sounds very similar to ours (wedding 11th June, fly 13th early!), they signed for docs early March but not on tracker til early April 😳 my 2 year old sons new application went at same time and we got his back weeks ago! My fiancée has called many times and they were shocked been 9 weeks now with nothing, we will have to ring upgrade earlier as ours falls at start of jubilee week 😱
There's an update regarding my application too. Unfortunately not the one I was looking for, but I guess it's my own fault.
Two days ago a received a letter from the passport office in Liverpool.
I've got dual citizenship. They sent me back my non-British passport, which was on the old name, with a letter that I have to change my name on it first before they can proceed with the application.
My British passport on my old name is still with them. So now I have to go through a very annoying process of changing my name on the other passport before I can do anything with the British one.
The only thing which annoys me is the fact that I had to wait over 2 months for them just to tell me they can't issue me with a new passport 🤦♀️
