Hi guys,
I recently got married and have changed my surname. Our honeymoon is planned for the 3rd of September. I applied for my new passport on Saturday (the 30th of July) just the standard way, not fast tracked. Do you think this is too risky and I should fast track?

I would go for fast track, or avoid changing names until after your honeymoon as passport waiting times are delayed currently.
