First child application from overseas

Hi, My son’s first passport application is underway but we live abroad (Malaysia) and most of the updates here are related to UK based applicants. Has anyone applied for a first child passport from overseas recently? I’d love to know a timeline (good or bad!) as I’m not sure if I should book tickets to come home this summer for everyone to meet their new relation. My application progress is this at the moment: Documents received 11:00am on 8 May 2022 Application received 1:49am on 27 April 2022 Identity details received 1:49am on 27 April 2022 Email sent to person confirming your identity 10:51am on 21 April 2022 Ask someone to confirm your identity 4:10am on 21 April 2022 Application submitted 4:10am on 21 April 2022 Thanks in advance!

Hi, ours are first passports, applying from Australia. They aren't children's passports but will give you some idea perhaps? I think you want to be looking at it over the next couple of days and crossing your fingers you don't end up in the dreaded processing black hole like we have. Hello, we applied from Singapore. Our documents were delivered to the Durham passport office which took three weeks to go to “documents received. No updates since then: Application being processed 3:59pm on 22 April 2022 Documents received 9:44am on 21 April 2022 Application received 10:58am on 29 March 2022 Identity details received 10:57am on 29 March 2022 Email sent to person confirming your identity 1:41pm on 28 March 2022 Ask someone to confirm your identity 1:01am on 17 March 2022 Application submitted 1:01am on 17 March 2022
