17/07/23 took photos in Max Spielman Photo Booth (all 10 takes said “did not meet biometric standards” but used final one and it was accepted by passport office. 17/7/23 completed online application and posted old passport by Royal Mail next day signed for. Despite Royal Mail not delivering it next day, the Passport Office received it on 20/07/23 and I received my passport on 24/07/23. Superb service from Passport Office received within 7 days of application, 3 days after they received my old passport

I was super impressed with the speed that my passport renewal took. Quite literally one week after applying I had my new passport.
In addition I got almost daily text and email updates which kept me very well informed on progress.

Very happy with the processing time for my renewal. I was expecting it to take upto another 7 or 8 weeks. I guess they give themselves extra time incase they require additional information. In my case, they only required my old passport and once that was received, the process began immediately. My advice is to send your old passports immediately, that way they can begin working on your new one the moment they receive it. I am living outside of the UK (Ireland), so also expected a longer wait due to being “overseas” (even though I sent my old passport to Belfast office). However this didn’t seem to make a huge difference in my waiting time. Very impressed by the speed of this service.

Remarkably quick. They received old passport on 18th July. They logged it and approved passport on 20th July and I received new passport on Tuesday 25th July.
I sent all three family passports to the Corby office. My son and husband are still waiting for the Corby office to approve theirs.
