My son’s first passport application is underway but we live abroad (Malaysia) and most of the updates here are related to UK based applicants.
Has anyone applied for a first child passport from overseas recently? I’d love to know a timeline (good or bad!) as I’m not sure if I should book tickets to come home this summer for everyone to meet their new relation.

Hi, ours are first passports, applying from Australia. They aren’t children’s passports but will give you some idea perhaps? I think you want to be looking at it over the next couple of days and crossing your fingers you don’t end up in the dreaded processing black hole like we have.
