Applied for a renewal last week. Passport office received the old passport 2 days ago.
Today I got a phone call from an unknown caller ID saying they were from the passport office. They asked me to confirm my postcode and DOB.
They then asked me why I wanted to renew an in date passport and I told them it was because the pages are all full.
Is this normal? - has anyone else had a call from a withheld number like this?

Absolutely normal.
If you're renewing or replacing a passport with no damage or serious issues it's likely they'll call to ask why (if you haven't already explained why) A lot of airports are switching over to digital stamping as well now so they probably didn't see the pages being fully stamped as a reason at the time
