What to bring to the passport office 48 hours before travel?

Would anyone be able to give some advice about what to bring to the passport office if you need to go there 48 hours before travel please? Do you need to bring birth certificate, proof of address etc? Would appreciate hearing some success stories?

I am chasing my daughters application currently in ‘Upgrade’ but no communication from them at all – does she have to attend in person? She is doing her GCSE exams on the day we move into 48 hours before and the thought of going just 24 hours before with her is just awful:(
