Been waiting for my sons passport for 11 weeks now. Its been processing for a month since 25th April. We are due to travel in 6 weeks and the lack of contact is stressful. I called the office to be told by a robot that someone will be in touch soon. Have also filled in an online enquiry form and am waiting to hear back. Peterbrough passport office has been on the news. The website said to contact the office but that’s the number I called to get through to nobody. Frustrated.

Similar problem though not waiting as long. Sent my supporting documents on 9th May and it’s still saying send documents when I check online. Tracking system on Royal Mail says that they have been received by Peterborough office on 12th even though it should have been next day. No help when calling the passport office and no response when using the online enquiry form. Have a feeling I won’t be able for travel.

Please please please write a letter to passport office handling your application stating your urgency. Needed childs first passport urgently to apply for visa which takes another 2 weeks. Travel date 26th June. No response via email or phone call , not once did any one reply to email or call back! Was stuck on documents received for 4 weeks! Passport approved next day from receiving my letter ( sent next day guarantee delivery) so frustrating and time consuming! From application to passport received took 6 weeks . Believe me it’s the only way in my opinion. Good luck!

I lost / mislaid my passport and applied for a new one on 28th March, my ‘photo verification went the same day, it was repported as being progressed on 4th April – since then nothing – I did email all passport offices with an Urgent request early in May, got a telephone call cheking details about two weeks ago, since then nothing. I need the passport by 31st May or must cancell cruise. I’ve spent hours ringing the Passport Office number to pay for an up-grade to 1 week (which they said I could do). When I do get through, after up to an hours wait, with the phone ringing, I’m always told they can’t transfer to the ‘pay’ office as it’s too busy so ‘please ruing back’ and ‘no. we can’t transfer you to wait on line until they’re free’, so round I go again and again and again … I think I shall have to cancel. What an abominable system.
