First passport application after naturalisation. Naturalisation was 22.11.22 application was received 29.11.2022. It took 24 hours for my ID to be verified so application started on 28.11.22 and referee completed my ID verification the same day. Documents were sent on 29.11.22 to the Hemel Hempstead address and it took 6 days for them to be linked to my application. It took a further 5 days for my application to be approved and 3 days for it to be printed and delivered. As a long time sufferer of the Schengen visa system I am impressed and very jealous that these are the service standards for Brits! Glad to be able to benefit from this now as well

I must say i was a little worried when i submitted my renewal documents at the post office for them to check and send and said please allow 10 weeks to receive your new passport and we are travelling in early march however my new passport has just arrived after only 6 days fantastic service.

Easy, just doesn’t update immediately when Royal Mail have actually dropped your documents off, pay extra for the tracked&signed for option! It took them over a week to say they’d received my documents but passport was approved and printed in the same day

Quick turnaround and simple process online. Got my photos done at a shop to be safe and make sure they were correct then they emailed them to me so I could upload online.

Applied via VFS Global, didn’t receive tracking no. so impossible to check status of application. HMPO advice line webpage and telephone help couldn’t track without tracking code, and HMPO phone line can’t connect to person (to explain my situation) without tracking numbers. Far too stressful but eventually got my passport.
