My passport renewal took 7 days from start to finish, including a weekend – absolutely brilliant. I was expecting about 10 weeks then a mad rush to chase it before my holiday in April! My only advice would be to take time to read through the guidance and follow it carefully (eg, standards for photos, and sending whatever documentation).

Applied and sent passport via DHL Express from USA on Thu 29/12. Was delivered to passport office on Tue 3/1 because of new year holiday. Showed as received on Passport website on 6/1, marked as approved 9/1, passport printed on 10/1, and then shipped back 11/1 via DHL Express. I received it back on 13/1.
Before sending I was concerned about the time to renew, per the Passport Service website, saying to allow 10 weeks. I renewed my children’s passports last summer and it was 8 weeks end to end. This was much faster and great service!
