Unbelievably quick. 2 weeks from when passport office received my application for first UK (adult) passport until I had received the printed passport, sent by courier to my home. My foreign passport and application material returned to me 3 business days later. I do not understand why it says 10 weeks wait on the Passport Office website – can only imagine it is to make sure they meet an (easy) target….

Adult passport renewal application submitted in New Delhi, India on 3rd August 2022. DHL number given for tracking to destination (Liverpool). Passport received in zliverpool office on 5th August. 20 th August received email from HMPO Liverpool that payment did not go through. So arranged payment by another debit card on 25 th August. Then on 15 th October received an email from HMPO Liverpool requesting confirmation of the office address from where the application was made from. I replied with the address New Delhi, India. The on 28 th October received an email from New Delhi office that my passport was ready to be picked up. Picked it up on 31 st October. Checked the passport. All was okay and it had been printed on 18 th October. Don’t know how long it took for it to arrive from UK to India. I suspect the office in New Delhi sat on it for a week as there was a national holiday of Diwali in India. Overall good experience.
