I applied online. The application process and uploading a photo was very quick and easy. I did worry about the delivery of my expired passport to HMPO due to ongoing postal strikes. However, it only added a week to the whole process. Once they received my old passport my new passport was approved and printed in a couple of days and delivery of my new passport (which may have been affected by cold weather) was a few days after that. All in all , very pleased with the whole process and the tracking information and the amount of time taken.
* I should add that I sent my old passport to an address in Corby which is not listed among the options blow.

I was very surprised at the turnaround time of my passport. Only 12 days !!! I was told that it would take up to 10 weeks. Excellent surprise!!!
