As many have said, the bit that took the longest was waiting for Royal Mail to deliver it to the PO. The rest of it was a breeze! Was a panic as I didn’t realise I needed a passport to fly to Scotland on Ryanair, so the speed of this was perfect!

Passport was received on Monday 9th but took till Friday to be updated. Would have helped if that was quicker. Apart from that, 13 days for the whole process is not bad at all. We fly out next week so just happy it came.

When uploading the photo (which we took) for an online application, the algorithm initially said that the photo was poor, but it was accepted by the DVLA for a driving licence, so mentioned this on the application. Other than that the communication was good with the optional text / email notifications and turnaround time was very good.

This was a stressful experience given old passport was lost en route to HMPO. It could have been caught up in strikes/bank holidays and I gave it 3 weeks but couldn’t wait longer due to travel date looming. Declared it lost but then had to battle to change the application to replacement rather than renewal, obtain lost ref number, link to application then keep getting told it takes 10 weeks. In the end it was quick once lost ref number had been linked but it was the not knowing that was stressful. passport has arrived today after approval 2 days ago so very happy. Sent to Corby.
