I think the passport office is doing a marvellous job in processing the applications and issuing the passports in a short period of time. I applied on 19th Dec, my documents were received by the passport office on 3rd Jan (due to Royal Mail strikes and holidays), and my passport was printed on 5th Jan. But I received my passport on 17th Jan by an old lady! DHL had delivered my passport to a wrong address, without checking any form of ID, without scanning any tracking number, so the passport office could not even locate my passport. The delivery is in a mess, unfortunately. I wonder how a delivery courier can pick up passports without scanning and sending any tracking number, my ID could be stolen. I was lucky that an old lady delivered my passport before it was reported lost by the passport office.

Used Royal Mail 1st class signed for which took 4 days to show as delivered; after that all very quick, so 9 days to deal with old passport and just 5 days to approve, print and deliver…
It was Corby HMPO which isn’t on the PO drop down menu, hence the ‘Not sure’

Passport took ages to arrive at Corby, although sent first class signed for. Sent on 3/1, signed for stated 9/1, Passport Office confirmed receipt on 13/1. First photo rejected on 15/1, uploaded another within 10 minutes it had been accepted, received passport on 18/1.
