The old passport took 5 days to register that they had received it. I sent it next day special delivery on the 8.2.23. I applied late evening online on the 7.2.23. When I applied the computer told me that the contrast on my picture may not be right but it was accepted. I called the passport office to check on the picture and the receipt of my old passport and this was quick and easy to do.

Easy to apply online and take self photo with phone. Website then evaluates the suitability of photo after uploading. Can re-upload different photos many times until website decides it is suitable. Clear and concise instructions. After 5 five working days received text to say passport checked and going for printing. Then text same day in evening to say passport printed at 21:23 hours and to expect delivery in next few days. What I do not understand is why do I have to send off my old passport? Surely it is possible to keep existing passport and have it cancelled on the system when new one arrives. This is what happens with credit cards!! To expect someone to be without a passport even for a few weeks is unreasonable and very inconvenient as I travel very frequently. In fact why can’t a passport be on my phone and then simply upload it to a passport app. This may be even more secure like banking apps as smartphones are fingerprint protected.

Very easy, took my own photo rather than go to booth, after numerous tries I finally had one I was reasonably happy with. Downloaded this & they confirmed it was ok. I sent off my old passport the same day.
My new passport arrived yesterday, 22/02/2023, althouth I’m still waiting the return of the old one, I’m hoping to get it back as it has many Asian & South American stamps/visas inside.
Pity about the colour, I would have preferred the European one but not possible now.

Easy online application if you have all relevant info at hand. Recommend having photo taken by a photography business with the appropriate software rather than an automatic booth – good quality approved image and only £1 more than a supermarket booth.
Replacement passport arrived one week after application, great service.

Applied online confirmed identity on same day. Again 9 February received request for conforming identity and then on 13th February received request for sending parental responsibility. I have applied and sent in my application on 4/15 it was received and i received a text saying i need to send in my old passport. That arrived in UK from USA on MAY 4th…I still as of 5/20 HAD NO UPDATE I leave mid July for international travel with my entire family who are US citizens and have passports. What must or can I do? Also has anyone been able to expedite overnight mail at least?
