Super easy online process, done within a few minutes. Being able to upload an image was great.
From them receiving the passport it was 8 days in total to approve and print and send to me. The longest wait was for them to update once posted that they had received my application.

Register for the text update service – I was kept up to date frequently on the progress.
Using a commercial photobooth which issues a code allowing electronic submission of photos makes it very easy.
Someone from passport office called me directly to address a query they had. All sorted very quickly.

Online application works well. Tricky to get the photo right when using a phone. Took a number of attempts. Make sure camera is level with eyes otherwise the software thinks you are not looking at the camera.

So easy, can’t believe how fast I got mine back. That said, we didn’t my boyfriend’s at the same time, posted the old ones off at the same time etc. and he’s not had receipt of the old one confirmed yet. They had to go to separate offices though, so maybe that’s why.

Apart from the cost of having to renew, cost about £90 in total, it was super quick! I was worried as Christmas is near I wouldn’t get it until the new year but got it in 12 days which was great!
