So easy to complete online, the photo guidelines were very clear so I took my own and then getting someone to approve your identity was also very easy to do online. The passport was then approved the same day

I applied and sent my old passport on a Friday morning using the Royal Mail Guaranteed Next (business) Day service, so it didn’t arrive at the passport office until the Monday. Had I applied and sent on a Monday morning maybe the waiting time would have been even shorter. My old passport hasn’t arrived back yet but I paid the extra £5 for secure delivery so hope this will arrive soon too.
I had my photos done at Snappy Snaps which cost £13 and the guy in the shop checked the photos on the passport website before he gave me the hard copies of the photos and the code to use on the passport website. You can also take and submit a selfie on your phone but I wanted to be sure the photo would be accepted so paid the extra.

The biggest disappointment was with the delivery time from Germany to the UK. It then took one working day from the passport being printed to receiving a shipped notification, and then arrived the following day.
