I took the photo at home on a phone, and it worked fine. The first class “signed for” post took 9 days to reach them (due to Xmas delays, strikes, etc.?) – worrying! But then c. 30 minutes after I got an “old passport received” notification, I got another one saying “approved”. The very next morning, another SMS & email arrived saying “new passport has been printed & will be transferred to our delivery supplier in the next few days; when ready for delivery we will contact you with a tracking reference”… but already just a few hours later, the new passport had arrived! Amazed it was this quick (they say ‘allow 10 weeks”, which would have been too late for me).

Brilliant service. I made a mistake on the online form, rang up (amazed to get through quickly in the evening); very helpful staff. Submitted a cover letter with my old passport. Astonished to get it back, renewed, only 5 days later. Didn’t pay for fast track. Superb service. My wife’s renewal passport was equally quick.
