Sent my old passport off for renewal, then had to phone for them to find my it and process it four weeks after it was delivered. Then I had to phone again after there had been no activity on my application for 10 days, I was put through to the examiner who told me they’d lost my old passport internally and that’s what was causing the delay. If I hadn’t phoned, what would have happened?
Phone staff were helpful, and progressed things each time I called, but seems Hemel Hempstead couldn’t find their backsides with both hands if I gave them a map, compass, torch and placed one hand on a butt cheek for them.

Booked this appointment as I lost my passport in December and needed a new passport urgently for going on holiday.
I was early for my appointment by half an hour and was taken early, the woman behind the desk checked my application and i was wary it wouldn’t get approved as it was a gas engineer that countersigned my passport but there was no issues.
She said I should receive it by the following Friday, it was delivered the Wednesday morning at 6am (only 3 working days after it was submitted!)
Very happy with their service and I can now relax that I have my new passport 🙂
