we were worried at first with the 10 week notice period but actually once the initial confirmation of receiving the old passport happened it was very fast. The initial part was two weeks then fast.

Old passport took 12 days to acknowledge receipt of my old passport. Was worried it took so long but application was approved 5 days after that, then another 2 days for printing and passport was delivered the next day after it was printed. What a relief!

Believe the nightmares….
12 WEEKS!!! 12 weeks to get my daughter renewed …. I had to book a fake flight to make them fast track it…. I could not believe that after 11 weeks they would not honour a fast track .
It took my 28 attempts to get through to the customer service management team the day before my “”flight””.
Absolute shambles….
NO issues with rest of family in fact a week turnaround …. There was absolutely NO …ZERO reason this took this long…. they had everything needed. absolute disgrace …. fake flight best money I spent all year…..

I was passed from pillar to post with no resolvement, the passport was sent from hemel to peterborough to durham…. time line as folllows !

Only because I booked a fake flight to france and kicked off royally did I get the passport back in time for my real flight.
Mine took 2 weeks my son 4. The hold up for my daughter? waiting well over a month for someone to “inspect the passport”.
In the end when I finally got through to customer management team after 27 phone calls to clueless front line staff. (not their fault) I managed to expedite the passport.
I have never been so stressed in all my life….. a simple renewal taking 9 weeks due to me kicking off…. or would have easily been 15+ weeks…. shambles
My application was sent in for my twins on the 11th May to the Peterborough Office.
I sent all documents days after and was signed for on the 16th May.
I only got a message on the 9th June to say Documents received.
We are ment to be flying on the 17th July… So stressed with it all. I will be going into the 10th week the week we are ment to go… Hoping this is going to give us enough time :/
My husband’s passport was marked as received on 25th May at Glasgow and he received his new passport on 2nd June. My daughter’s old passport was marked as received on 1st June at Durham. Just received her new passport in post today (13th). My other daughter’s passport was applied for on the same day as the but needed an extra confirmation of identity. Hers is currently being printed. Our longest wait was for the passport office to acknowledge that they had got our old passports. After that things moved quite quickly.
Thank you for you reply that really does give me some Hope. Its their First Passports so I am worrying may take longer but Fingers crossed.
My passport application said it was processing on 20th May and today it changed to identity details received so it’s gone backwards in the queue!
My partners has done the same. I’m so confused as to what’s happening!?
Mine is the some, has gone from process to received identity documents, going backwards not forward and tried to get through to someone from the passport office forget it
Mine too said 6th jim as being processed now saying we have received your old passport although the actually received it 11th May I have had to cancel my 50th birthday celebration in Bali as meant to fly out tomorrow so upset as have people going out to celebrate with me and I won’t be there !!
