Overseas Application

Got very nervous due to booking short notice holiday. passport arrived 6 days before travel.

Took a long time for the documents to show up but after that it was easy. the biggest stress is the returning of my passport, we have travel booked and not sure when it will arrive and didn’t appreciate that it would take longer.

Very slick online process. The only hiccup was that the site told me my uploaded photo potentially wasn’t suitable. However, I believed it was ok, so proceeded with the application anyway. After that no problems.

Applied for 3, one received after 10 days, mine after 14, still waiting for approval of another.

Via the Glasgow office.
Everything went smoothly & I was kept informed by text & e-mail. Smooth, stressless process thankfully!

20 days was good but stressful because against a looming holiday cancellation deadline.  It took the Passport Office 9 days to acknowledge receipt of old passport and another 6 days to approve the application.  Both took calls and requested call-backs.  All good in the end though.

I forgot to send my old passport off straight away and only sent it a week after applying. Therefore I expect the new one would have arrived slightly earlier had I sent it straight away!

Slow acknowledging receipt, fast processing, slow returning new passport.

Took 10 days to register arrival at HMPO – very worrying!

The application process itself was quick and easy. It was delivered without a hitch by TNT, three working days after receiving a text telling me it would be delivered in the coming week.

Home Office took 9 days to register receipt of old passport, despite arriving at passport office 7 days earlier.

Faster than expected. Was anxious after bad press re TNT.

Royal mail confirmed delivery (signed for) on 24th Jan but it took until 31 Jan to receive a text from HMPO saying they had it. After that though it took just one week to approve.

Can’t believe how quickly it took considering I had a delay getting my documents sent away (mine and my mother’s birth certificates). Had another hiccup as I had to report my old children’s passport as lost before my application could progress. Waiting for the cancellation ref number took a while but overall I was super impressed.

It’s great service!

Mine was a renewal from Europe so had the added postal time. 1 week each way.

Incredibly quick first passport application for child born overseas

Applied from USA
