Called helpline at the bottom of the application confirmation and was told I was eligible for an upgrade. Submitted proof of travel as requested on 10th June. Spoke to various people who gave various different information about my application. Received a phone call on 18th June to say it would be delivered 21/6 and I would receive a call to say it had despatched- nothing. I called to chase up on 20/6 and was told 10 weeks hadn’t passed and I couldn’t have an upgrade. This member of staff should not be employed in customer service – he didn’t listen to what I was saying and then cut me off. Eventually I spoke to a lovely guy who promised someone would call me and on 21/06 I received the call to say the passport would be delivered by 1pm 22/6. After so many promises, I was doubtful, but it finally arrived with the morning post yesterday 22/6. We fly tomorrow . Extremely stressful experience.

I applied for an adult renewal and a child renewal on the same day. Both via online application with photos from a photo birth using the code.

On 13/05/2022 i received an email stating that as I had requested a name change I also needed to send 2 utility bills and a bank statement for my application and my birth certificate for my sons application.
I had NOT requested a name change. As I was concerned about this I phoned the passport office but sent the extra documents anyway.
After being on hold for 2 1/2 hours I got through to someone who said they don’t have direct contact with the passport office but can take my details and I will receive a call back with 48 hours. I did NOT receive a call back
I called back again on 18/05/2022 and after being on hold for 1 hour they advised actually the call back time is 1 week
I did NOT receive a call back
I called back again and was on hold for another hour they advised if I hadn’t received a call back by now I had fallen off the system and they would take my details again and expect to wait a week for a call back
I did NOT receive a call back
The tracker finally updated to state that the passports had been printed.

On 15/07/2022 I received my old passport ms back and the extra documents back – still no new passports

On 22/07/2022 I phoned the passport office to query if my passports had been lost. They stated they don’t deal with this and I would have to call the courier…tnt ltd on 0800 100 600 and automated message then took me to a specific passport telephone number which I had to call 0345 608 0630
After 1/2 an hour of fighting with an automated lady I finally got through to a real life very helpful lady.
She advised me the passports had been at the depot since he 07/07/2022 but had it been put out for delivery and she didn’t know why.
She then put them on the system and I received them today! If I hadn’t have called I probably still wouldn’t have them now!

Payment taken 6.4.22, acknowledged received 12.4.22 now 23.6.22 no updates, no passport, have repeatedly enquired online no update, tried phoning complete joke, letter of complaint sent 2..4.22. It took less than a week to take my payment, now over 12 weeks and still waiting for my passport. Absolute disgrace.

My 3 children’s (2 renewal & 1 first) arrived within 4 weeks but mine that I lost (within date) has had no update since the day I applied. Spoke to the passport office and I can not upgrade to 1 week service until 2 weeks prior to flying.

In fact it was fast, but I dont know if that’s because I pushed or because it was always going to be this timing.

I submitted and left it for two weeks, then I requested my MP to send a letter which they did very quickly.
After 3 weeks, I managed to get a fast track appointment so went to the office. They couldn’t process because i already had an application. I tried to cancel the online cancellation so i could use the fast track. No-one seem to be able to advice how to cancel (contradicting advice).
Anyway second time round to the passport office, it was approved 10 min before I entered the building!

Im sure I created some added stress to myself, but if we could have a clearer view of the time it will be processed this would have prevented a lot of it.

It has taken 12 weeks to receive my daughters child renewal passport. It has arrived 4 days before my holiday. I spent hours chasing it up via phone calls, email and complaint form online. I spoke to the progress team, who requested an upgrade, I emailed my flight details and I was contacted and passport was sent next day delivery . It has been a very stressful experience, but once I got through to the progress team the staff member was so helpful and everything was sorted within 48hrs.

Been waiting since March 10 2022, still no passport. Can see my application status online (still at We’ve reviewed your documents) however when I called up, I was told they can’t find my application. Worried sick. Terrible customer service, they just wanted to get me off the phone. If anyone one knows of anything that can help, please let me know.
