Comments:
Average call back took 3 days from the Progress team, management team took around a week.
Online enquiry form seems completely useless.
I received a letter on 15/06 (after 2 weeks of calling and explaining I was travelling on 12/06) dated 01/06 explaining how to book an interview. by this time I had already received my passport.
I ended up going to the Newport office (without an appointment) and waiting in line to be seen; the people managing the desks there actually cared and took a look into things when nobody else would do anything other than book a callback. As far as I’m concerned, this is the only reason I have my passport and is what I would advise to anyone who has already booked travel/a holiday as the phone lines got me very little progress/help and a huge amount of conflicting information.

As soon as we sent off my husband’s original passport on 3 May following an online renewal application we realised he needed it back to get airside at work at Heathrow Airport. After weeks of misinformation, and struggling to get help from HMPO, we managed to get through to the Customer Support Management Team (thanks to a number we saw on this forum so THANK YOU – number has now been switched off sadly) and after 2 more escalations with this team, my husband was called on Tuesday by an examiner to say she was approving his passport, it was printed yesterday and arrived early this morning (Friday). Once we got through to the right team, they were super helpful and knowledgeable and did their best to help us. My husband has not been able to work / earn since 4th May so this has cost us thousands and he nearly lost his job.
I would like to thank Justine and Bubsy at HMPO Customer Support Management team for doing all they can to help us. They are clearly in the sh*t and on the phone to desperate people all day every day.

Excellent experience in difficult times.
I decided to go straight for fast track despite having 8 weeks until our holiday for my baby’s first passport. This was the best decision I made.
3 week wait for appointment.
Appointment Tuesday 17th May 2pm.
Passport through door Sat 21st May 1pm.
Experience at the passport office was excellent. Very efficient, polite happy staff.
I honestly cannot fault the fast track service. Completely worth the money to save my stress levels.

    Can anybody advise please? Applied for first adult passport for my son 25th April , (Child Passport sent with application through post office check and send). Upgrade team at Glasgow acknowledged our need for urgent upgrade 15th June, told we’d receive phone call, yet nothing since. We’ve called and spoken to numerous advisers over last few days and got nowhere. Wondering if it’s worth going to our local office (Peterborough) unannounced tomorrow morning. Flight booked for Tuesday 7.30 am.
    Any advice gratefully received.
