Application went smoothly through the passport process despite sending my old passport by first class unsigned for mail.
Was messaged that it had been printed two weeks after application and was waiting to be picked up by their delivery partners.
Thought it was coming via TNT but I received a text on the 25th April saying DHL would be delivering it.
It arrived an hour after the allocated time slot.
Very glad it went well as some of the experiences people have had were the stuff of nightmares

It took 15 days for my documents to be updated as received on the tracker. I sent by recorded delivery and would suggest others do in case something was to go wrong.
Overall it arrived fairly quickly but the tracker does not fill you with confidence.

It takes about 5 days from printing the passport to receiving it. Note that from sending the documents to the passport office processing it takes about 2 weeks. So if anything is rejected like passport photo it will take 2 weeks to action.
My passport was delivered by DHL and not TNT. I only got a tracking text the day it was delivered.

Can anyone tell me their experiences of dealing with Durham passport office? I sent my little grandson’s passport via the PO service on the 15th of March, and didn’t receive an email until a week later acknowledging receipt, despite arriving at the office the following day of postage. I still have heard nothing, and it’s easier contacting the dead as I’m unable to speak to anyone, and forever being cut off. We leave to go on holiday on the 13th of May, so getting very stressed; I will lose £2000 if I cancel our holiday.
