Don’t panic when you receive a standard text saying you should receive your passport within 10 weeks. Mine took under 2 weeks using the post office and a cheque.
Took 7 days for the Passport office tracker to show my old passport had arrived. That was the only delay really.
Passport wasn’t processed until a week after it had arrived, but then took only a few days before I received it.
There was a delay of 8 days between Royal Mail saying they have delivered my old passport and the Passport Office acknowledging they had it. No tracking provided by TNT, just turned up on my doormat!

Took 14 days to show as received old passport, 7 days to process and approve and 4 days until delivered so 25 in total.
