Very easy and straightforward for a Government process!
Took photo myself and it gave it a green line on the acceptance scale.
Had email and SMS notifications for every step. The ‘printed’ ones were about 8 hours apart (email immediately, but SMS the next morning), but maybe as it was the middle of the night and they didn’t want to disturb me.
Then had equally timely and thorough notifications from Royal Mail

Standard adult renewal via Corby with no extra information required, only my old passport which I sent by royal mail guaranteed next day 1pm delivery. 5 days to approve once received (received 1 day after royal mail confirmed delivery) and 2 further days until it arrived at my door – total of 12 days from application to receive the new passport. Very quick and efficient service.

I had completely forgotten to send my passport off, didn’t realise I wouldn’t receive my new one without sending my old one…
Sent it via normal postage on 10/06/2025 – was approved, printed and delivered by 14/06/2025. Was so worried it wouldn’t arrive in time for my holiday but absolutely stellar service!

Applied for Adult renewal overseas. It took 3 weeks from submitting the application to receiving the new passport. Then I also received the old passport 2 days later. There was a bank Holiday in the UK during processing and a national holiday in the UAE during delivery too. Which both slowed it down a little.
