Advice lines via both phone and online are absolutely unable to give advice beyond what the computer screen says or help the process in anyway so they should be able to inform people of this. We had so much misinformation and false advice that actually led to the lengthy delay that even our MP couldn’t sort out. Leaving note of alerts on your application is just paying lip service as it does absolutely nothing to move the application along. The interview wasn’t even requested until we had been waiting 14 weeks.

I submitted my renewal online on Monday 12th for adult renewal for the standard times (not fast track), posted my passport with special next day delivery before 1pm and it’s out for delivery tomorrow Friday 16th. I’m in Renfrewshire and had to post my passport to Corby office. I’m really surprised with how quick and easy it was.

Easy, applied online and posted old passport off same day first class recorded. Took 4 days for system to update to show old passport received, took 7 days from application for application to be approved, took 11 days total for new passport to be received.

Given that there were 3 delays (2 Spanish Bank Holidays, and an extra day on my DHL 24hr delivery due to weather for passport to arrive to UK), quite impressed. The wait for documents to register on the system as received was stressful. I found out the wait from Printed > DHL text > Delivery was due to a 3rd party collecting passport & delivery to the FCO depot for DHL to then take receipt. Overall, great job from Hemel Hempstead but see Corby are on top of their game a bit quicker!
