Royal mail dispatch notification 11:08 on 18 June for delivery 19 June – I assumed this was my old passport being returned as I paid extra for tracked return

Delivered 12:31 on 19 June – 9 days to the minute!
My official tracking link still just shows as “printed” and no official dispatch confirmation so I guess there is some delay in the notification system. The tracking link I received from Royal Mail via text shows that my old passport has not been dispatched yet.
Very easy experience from start to finish, hardest part was taking the photo and getting the lighting right!

Slow at updating documents received. Called with Royal Mail tracking ref and updated promptly. Approved 6 days after documents received, printed next day and handed over to Royal Mail for delivery the next day!

Application process was very easy and only took a few minutes, the lack of updates was stressing, but after contacting them, it only took a couple of minutes to get an update and received in two days. Staff are very helpful.

Comments:
A child’s renewal, with old passport sent to hemel Hempstead. Took 12 weeks in total from start to receiving. Fairly sure it got lost in the system somewhere but everytime I contacted was told it’s still in standard checks. Had to lodge a complaint that was reviewed, told still in standard checks. Requested the complaint be escalated higher. Got a reply on the day passport was approved saying please accept our apologies but they felt it need further checks. Absolute load of rubbish. Customer services and passport advice line are pointless!
