Comments:
Sending of old passport by 1st class tracked may have cost a day and processing office didn’t accept any deliveries on Saturday so in the absence of full tracking I thought old passport was lost. No point in using web chat as advisors only give the standard SLA information. HMPO application tracker was efficient and updates given by text and email – right up to printing and despatch of passport which hasn’t updated on HMPO Royal Mail received passport 26 hours after HMPO approval.
Definitely an efficient process even with high volumes at this time of year.

Good, easy to use service. Only suggestion would be, if you need your passport in a in a short amount of time like I did, pay for the express service, it’s not worth the stress of waiting and you aren’t able to speed up or upgrade once you have started the process.

Used FedEx International to send old passport. It was delivered Monday 19th May and acknowledged as “Received” on Wednesday 21st May. Approved Wednesday 28th. Shipped via DHL on Friday 30th May. Received Monday 2nd June.
