Comments:
Apply online, and immediately post your old passport using next day postal delivery service. I applied on a Sunday evening, posted old passport next day on Monday…and received new passport after 7 ‘working days’….excluding ‘weekend days’. New passport arrived super early in the morning, before 8am.

2 kids first passports applications – one documentation was not tracked by royal mail even tho both were sent signed for (little worry as it took 10days to acknowledge receipt of documentation) Luckily the passport office with the whole process kept both applications together, which I am very thankful for.
