We filled in the online forms on Sunday and had photos from a Sainsbury’s Photo Booth with the digital option. Our applications were accepted on Monday and we sent our old passports off from the post office tracked. We have received the new passports on Thursday 5 days from application. Brilliant.

Recently married. We both took double-barrelled names. Mine was processed slower than usual but still got approved. My husband has an Irish passport and was told he had to get his Irish passport updated before they’d consider updating his British passport, despite being a British citizen first and foremost. Utter fiasco.
